This upgraded 6.5Ah battery brought my old Dyson DC56 back to life! I thought my dyson was a goner but this was the perfect fit! Everytime id plug my V8 cordless vacuum in the red lights would flash and it wouldn’t charge. I replaced it with this and it’s good as new! Really easy to install you just need a very small screwdriver to losen the 3 screws on the vacuum and then it pops out.

Barely lasted 6 months and now has an electric fault and won't work. It was great while it lasted, more power and longer run time. It should last more than 6 months of very light use...*Update* reached out for support and they sent a replacement battery! Hopefully this one lasts longer than 6 months, but I appreciate the good customer service.

our Dyson was dead in the water, and Dyson batteries are as with all name brands overpriced and underwhelming. I decided to take a chance on this and have been thoroughly impressed! Even out of the box the cordless didn't like being in Boost mode for long before the unit would start to stutter and Id have to turn boost off.This new battery just chugs away, Boost mode no longer cripples the unit. Battery capacity has boosted longevity better than the original as well, we charge it maybe 2/3rds as often as we used to.I will update in time to see how the battery holds up long term. That said based on the current use I have no doubt this battery will last as long or longer than the original

It seems to work well; however, we've only had it for a few days so we'll see how it does long term. It fit easily - you just take out three little screws to remove the old battery and install the new one - charge it up - and you're done. On a different subject - nowhere in the paperwork from Dyson does it say what model we have. Finally, in microscopic print, we found a number and hoped it was correct -- it was. All the Dyson booklets are generic, that is, for several (unnamed) models. Initially, when we called Dyson, they guessed the problem was the charger - it cost us over $30 dollars to find out they were wrong. We went the "look the problem up on-line route" and found out it was the battery, ordered from an Amazon company we never heard of, and it worked - so far. We're happy - the internet is great!

It did work out of the box and charged, unfortunately, I've had nothing but bad luck with these types of batteries and this particular one suddenly died but then continued to work. The vacuum doesn't last as long as it did with the original battery, especially at the higher speed (even though this one is 'upgraded'...) but it costs three times less than one sold by Dyson so it was expected.
