Works pretty well. The list will get every where if you forget to cover the empty pods. I was able to get great lettuce my first go round in 3 weeks. The second time, I tried to grow spinach and beans. The spinach never sprouted. I like that it was easy to put together and you could adjust the height pretty tall and brightness by a percentage. This was quiet compared to my other system. I would say it was worth a cost. Easy to clean.

This gardening system is great! It is very easy to use from seed to harvest, and it takes a lot of the guess work out of hydroponic gardening.The adjustable height of the light panel helps to accommodate for different plant heights, the built in water heater helps to keep water at a favorable temperature for fast plant growth, the control panel is easy to program, there are ample plant sites for up to 15 different plants to grow at one time, and the supplied nutrients are easy to measure out and use.The only things I would modify about this product, is that the garden sometimes loses power when the light panel is adjusted upward, and I would add a 24 hour programmable clock into the control panel to set the lights by.Other than that, a great gardening system for beginners and pros!

Update - It stopped working completely last night. I had noticed it was more likely to turn itself off when the water pump was on, and the lights would be dimmer and flicker. I decided to experiment since it wasn't working anyway, and long story short, it's the ground connection between the hood and tube it connects to that's the issue. The ground is a bit recessed (and it looked like some corrosion on it). I know this isn't a permanent solution, and I should solder it, but I carefully folded a small bit of aluminum foil on the ground connector only, and it's working like new.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I gave this to my wife as a Christmas present. She was excited to try a new method of growing plants. It was easy to assemble and easy to operate. We planted six different plants (3 seeds each). Three have quickly grown (Basil, Thyme and Scallions). One is just coming up after six weeks, and two didn't make it. That's all well and good.The problem is the light hood. It seems like it has a short, or a power supply issue. It often flickers. Sometimes I can just tap the hood and it stops for a little while. Sometimes the light is only on at a lower power when it does this. It's completely unpredictable. It seems to be less reliable when the water pump is going. Then the flickering can be really bad. At it's worst, the machine will turn itself off. Since the whole point of this is to provide specific light and water for specific lengths of time, having inconsistent light and water (especially when it turns itself off) defeats the whole purpose.I really like the concept. I wish it worked better. But I can't give this a good rating as it performs (or doesn't) now.

I can’t even begin to express how much I love this product. My plants love it. It’s very intuitive, its touch settings work wonderful. And it didn’t take long for my seedlings to take off. About 2 months into having it I did have problems with the connections and it stopped working. I was afraid for my cucumbers and tomatoes that were taking off. I contacted customer service and due to their one year warranty I had another one at my doorstep within 4 days at no cost to me. No harm to my plants. I transferred them over and they are now flowering. Excellent product, excellent customer service! I have 3 other hydroponic machines and this one is my far my favorite!

I recently picked this up to replace a different brand that I had years ago. My old one broke and it was time to replace it. This one came in at half the price, but had more features! With this planter, I can adjust the brightness of the lights depending on what I'm growing and what stage they're at. And if I'm not sure what to do, the very helpful manual tells me exactly what the levels and settings should be every step of the way.Germination happened quickly and surprised me with how fast everything grew. Plus, with the misting feature, it ensures that all plants are at the appropriate temperature and get the right nutrients at the right time. If you're looking for a good hydroponic garden setup for beginners or pros alike, this is your machine.

Very easy to set up and operate. I actually figured out the light timer and intensity/spectrum settings on my own, but checked the instructions just to be sure. This unit takes up less space than a 5-gallon aquarium and looks nice on display, which I guess I really wasn’t expecting it to be this nice. For someone who is basically impatient to see results, this does not disappoint. First seedlings emerged overnight, all now have multiple sprouts and first sets of true leaves are developing after 6 days in each and every pot! So happy to see my results really look just like the pictures in the advert.
