Hi Andrew! The Caterpillar Gear Toy was designed to be used flat. We did not test it for wall-mounting. I don't think we'd recommend drilling holes in the board. I hope this information helps you make a more informed decision. Have fun!

Are the plastic cogs BPA free?

Honestly do not know the answer and would suggest you contact Melissa and Doug directly, if you are concerned.

the caterpillar is approx. . 12 inches long or there about , if I remember correctly , as it was purchased a fair time ago...
