Installed these on solenoids for AOVs and it reduced the decibels by 20 and had minimal effect on airflow.

Works really well
Most of the bad reviews here failed to realize that you have to stuff them with cotton or fabric or something to muffle the sound of a pressure release. I made the mistake of using TOO much at first, so the release of air was slow, but VERY quiet. Honestly these are great.

Used to replace the vent on my RV water tank. Works great.
Maybe not the intended use but seems to work great. Allows air to exit water tank when water is put in and allows air to enter when water is taken out.
