Does the job!
We have a 38 gallon tank. I replace the filters monthly, just to be on the safe side for the fish. I buy this pad and cut it into sections that will fit our filter, and I get about 8 sections. The filters work as expected and buying it as a pad is a cost effective way to get a bunch without breaking the bank.

Compact at First, Expands to Perfect Fit!
The media could not be loaded. This filter pad arrived compressed, which made it look small at first, but after reading the directions and running it under warm water, it expanded to full size. I was pleasantly surprised by how large it turned out to be! It was easy to cut to fit perfectly in my sump tank, and it's doing a great job filtering. Highly recommend for anyone needing a custom-sized filter pad for their aquarium setup.

Just what I wanted!
I’ll be using this to create additional filtration for a spillway into a pond! I got the 1.5 thickness and it’s great! Anyone who is complaining about how it comes packaged (compressed with creases) can’t have followed the directions yet! So simple! I ran warm/hot water over it for a couple of minutes and VOILA! I should be able to cut this up into at least 3 sponge filters!

Works great on my fountain pump!
My fountain pump kept getting clogged up with algae because of sun exposure. I sliced off a 1/4” slab of this and cut it down to fit around the front and 2 sides of my pump and fastened it with a big rubber band at the top and bottom. Now, when algae tries to block the front of the pump, the water just goes around the algae and doesn’t get slowed down. My fountain goes for weeks and weeks without having to be cleaned. It’s the perfect solution!

Ruined it
It was folded in half and vacuum sealed and smashed so flat. 4 hours later and it’s still the same, I thought it would puff back up but nope 1 1/2 inches is now a flat 1/4 inch of dense foam. Worthless, except maybe a 1x7 piece in the middle.
