I just got into painting mandalas on stones and I couldn’t find enough that were the perfect size or shape so I thought I would try a mold. This is my first one and it worked perfectly! It is a large mold so I think I will now buy a smaller one too and then I will be all set!

This silicon mold makes perfectly smooth rocks for painting. I especially like the rim to catch the overflow in case you pour a little too much plaster. I used Perfect Plaster, and made a dozen rocks in one weekend.The mold is easy to fill and shake air bubbles out. I messed up one rock by shaking it too long; the plaster was growng a crust while l was still shaking it. I turned out a rock that had a shattered look instead of smooth. I saved it to make a dragon egg with an eye peeping out of the crack!After creating a dozen perfect rocks the mold looks brand new. The little dot in the center is perfect for lining up the stencil. Very nice mold.

This mold makes perfectly shaped rocks to paint! It is very easy to use and the pattern that comes with it is very helpful in lining up my mandalas.

This mold is exactly what I have been looking for. Seems nice & sturdy and just the right size. I will try to update once I cast some stones.

I buy lots of silcone molds and quite frankly, I am blown away by the quality of this mold. It is not only sturdy, but the shape is well supported in this design. I can't wait to use it--and the added dome template is a really nice touch. I do not paint dot mandalas, but I a lot of crafts, and I can see lots of uses for the dot template--also super high quality. I recently bought their clear, flat 12" dot template, to use to mark my resin clocks--also a great tool.These guys are not fooling around--they know their stuff and they make great products.

The mold worked great! I watched some videos on how to use it, and my first one came out nearly perfect. No bubbles on top and very smooth. The jury is still out, though, on the stencil. I sharpened my chalk pencil as much as possible, but it still didn’t fit easily into the stencil slots. I wound up actually make scratch marks, rather than chalk marks, on the stone which could not be removed. Ultimately I had to touch up the black paint I had used for the base color. I did just order a soapstone pencil from Happy Dotting Company, so we’ll see if that works any better.
