Worked well for me
This is a great piece of kit!I'm completely new to chip programming and bought this to help me program an ATTINY84 with CV Pal code (electronic music eurorack module!).I only needed the 6 pin header for this so the supplied adapter was very welcome!I did have to update my driver. I googled AVRISP MKII driver and found a very helpful site. Then commands sent via the command prompt in windows sent my code with no problems.I've tried it with Atmel Studio software (free download) too and all seemed to be ok with this reduced price clone. So really pleased so far!!

Works perfectly
This works perfectly for ATMEGA328 programming via Arduino. For those having issues, make sure to check the 6-pin header is attached, select the programmer as AVRISP MkII, burn bootloader then upload using programmer. This seems to be the best way to program new ICs with the Arduino interface

Works like a charm.
This is what I needed to program the ATmega1284p. Atmel Studio 7.0, Windows 10 v2004. Great little device.

Couldn't get Atmel Studio 4 or 7 to recognise this. OK with avrdude/libusbk.
Atmel Studio 7 under Windows 10 didn't recognise this. I googled the problem and tried all the supposed solutions : Plug in before/after, attach target before/after, reinstall AS7, try different driver WinUSB, Jungo WinDriver, libUSB, libusbk etc etc. I tried it with AS4 and Windows 10. I even tried this with fresh installs of Atmel Studio 4.18 and 4.19 on an XP machine - not recognised. In every case Windows showed the driver was installed OK. I managed to get it working with avrdude and libusbk under Windows 10, programming the hex file from AS7, so still usable but with a bit of hassle.

Faulty
We were unable to evaluate the quality and ease of use of the item as it indicated a fault immediately the USB cable was connected.
