Leaking: Read This (+Long Use Update)
My pond is over 1000L, 80cm depth, a head of 1.2m. Stock of ~ 40 goldfish fed multiple times a day. Selection of border plants varying with season. This unit is paired with a new Jebao 3500L dirty water pump. 32mm pond hose used.My previous cheap combined UV pump was tripping the electrics, due to dirty quartz glass and failing seals allowing water ingress to create an earth fault (not shocked fish), the design had a rubber bung/holder at the end of the quartz tube which had to be removed in order to seat a new tube. During removal the quartz glass was shattered and thus not economical to repair. As other reviewers have pointed out and as the company name suggests, this is a product out of deepest china. They've clearly put a lot of effort into creating a great product, but it appears the English approach of talking slowly and loudly at foreigners and hoping for the best, isn't exclusive to us. The box is pretty, the packaging was designed by a university graduate and the product does work. However the 'manual' is next to useless as aside from restating the box info, it only covers stuff you'll already understand as a mostly competent adult while by-passing all the specifics you probably don't. They could make a good product great by outsourcing their manual to QA / technical proof reader in the target market.Issues Experienced:1.Hose tails leaking - I had no problem with the hose tail barb to hose, didn't require TPE or clips. The hose tail to body connection has a washer that you absolutely must fit by:a) Holding the screw connector back (tricky when using the max hose size)b) Ensuring the washer is perfectly central between both the body spout and hose tailc) Keeping the hose tail pushed against body spout, carefully screw down the hose tail connectorIf you fit the washer into the screw connector of the hose tail and then screw the connector so that it mates at the last moment the washer will always move and be pushed slightly into the spout creating anything from drips to arterial bleeds.2.The instructions have several diagrams on the unit, none of which explain where the bio-media balls are placed, with three possible locations I elected the most probable due to volume of media and likely function of dead space is (once the top section has been removed from the pot) to remove a large debris cover on the base of the the top section, then a smaller solid cap and fill this recess.3.Ideally (I've not done it yet) the hose tails should have the smaller unused sections removed to improve flow; Not mentioned in the instructions.4.The clips that hold the lid on are designed to hold it down for pressure, so to open you need to pull them down/out initially it feels like you'd damage the unit - and you might if you don't use a quick positive action.Overall I'm very happy with the unit, it out performs expectations functionally. After a few days I've gone from what had quickly become pea green soup to crystal clear, much better than I've had it prior. Fish are evidently pleased, displaying more playful and energetic behaviour. Coming from a box filter with multiple layers of awkward to handle/clean media types this is a game change, previously I was cleaning the filter box regularly, upsetting the bio-media, every week or two. Although I expect a strip-down clean to be quite a bit easier, nearly a month in and I've not had to do anything. Out of curiosity tried the auto clean feature which dumped a rich green plant fertilizer!Long Use Update:Having been asked questions about the unit, checked my review and thought I'd update it.It's still working perfectly, needs very little maintenance. Generally I do the quick clean action 2 times at the start and end of summer (more protein rich food for fish and plant growth generates higher load). I'd expected to need to do a full disassembly clean once a year, but couple of years in and flow rate is high and no indication this needs to be done (though I might do anyway to see state of UV glass, but clear pond suggests it's fine). The UV indicator is next to impossible to see during the day, this is because it's not an LED in series, but a view port to the lamp itself, so it's going to appear dim due to the nature of UV light. The comments about the switch or handle being difficult to move - yes, it's not super easy/smooth but I've not had any issues. My setup pumps water from the bottom of the pond, leaving me to remove large debris from the surface. If string algae / thread weed forms, remove manually using additives where required instead of relying on the pump to suck it up which would likely lead to clogging the filter and hence the mechanism itself.

Great value and clean water.
I've been running this filter on my 2000 gallon pond, which hold 10 large koi for 2 years and the results have been fantastic.

Good filters, easy to install
Good filters, easy to install, I now have three on my 2.5x5.1.5 m koi pond.I do use the back flush but once a year give the insides a proper clean

Does the job
Good value. Had a gravity filter for 20+ years. Changing ponds from sunken to raised so needed a pressurised filter. Well impressed for price and 10 minutes to install. JefM

Not fit for purpose
Difficult to align lid and get hose tails not to leak due to poor seals. After a short time a hose tail broke off and not able to find parts. Read other reviews before purchasing. Cheap is not best. You want something that works out of tje box, has full instructions, easy set up, easy clean and lasts - not this one!

Not what I expected fitting for pipes to small

Good filter
Replaced a larger Jebao filter Iād had for around 3 years after it got damaged with this filter. Easy to set up and is working just fine, koi pond is nice and clear.

Easy cleaning
Like the method of cleaning. Most other pressure filters I've had required dismantling the filter, and quite often this continuous dismantling ends up causing damage to the fittings. The only criticism I have is the positioning of the inlet/outlets. It may have been a better design to have the pump in and out pointing in the same direction and the washout as is, it does make the filter require more space around it having the connectors pointing in three different directions. I have managed to get around this but until the plants around it mature a bit more, it does look a little untidy. Still, it's not the end of the world, and I'm pretty sure the frogs and fish are appreciating the clear, clean, nicely aerated water.Overall, I'm very pleased with this filter, and you don't have to pratt about with transformers, less cable and electrics to try and hide. Happy days š
