Great machine
I have had several different outdoor vacuum cleaners, and this is the best yet. Great suction power, easy to push with good wheels, large capacity waste bag and not too noisy. It picks up some remarkably large leaf clusters and will even pick up horse chestnuts. the adjustable wheels are a great feature, enabling movement over some uneven ground and also helpful on grass surfaces. Overall I'm very pleased with the machine and would very much recommend it.

Great for artificial lawns
We had an artificial lawn installed about 18 months ago. What the company failed to inform us, was an artificial lawn surrounded by even one pine tree is not a good mix. Pine trees, by their nature, shed copious amounts of pine needles all year round. Once these pine needles get into an artificial lawn they are very difficult and time consuming to extract and if stood on in bare feet can cause a lot of pain. Added to that, we also have many holly bushes and other shrubbery. For 18 months I was patiently raking up the debris that had fallen on the lawn over and over again. It would take me, on average,1-1.5hrs to clean up the lawn. Far longer and far more strenuous than the 15mins it used to take me to previously mow the lawn. I had looked on several occasions for something like the Garden Gear 3 but for some reason my searches never brought up anything useful. I finally purchased the GG3 a few weeks ago and i can honestly say I've never been happier. I'm back to around the 20mins mark in cleaning the lawn. The GG3 is very easy to put together and i didn't even have to refer to the manual. The housing is plastic and it's no better or worse than other plastic housed lawn mowers I've had in the past and about the same size too, just maybe a bit more expensive. It is very easy to operate, again if you've used an electric lawn mower before you'll have no problems operating this. It's just like vacuuming. You pass the GG3 over the lawn several times and it just sucks up everything in its path. More stubborn debris that is well stuck in the fibres of the lawn may need a few more passes but it generally does s very good job at cleaning up the lawn. Like others have said, if you go against the lay of the lawn it can get a bit bumpy but the suction mouth has 3 height levels which are easily adjustable. It works very much like other garden vacs, in that it sucks up debris into its 'mouth' and that debris passes through a blade that cuts it up into smaller pieces and then dumps it into a bag. Be warned, it is very loud (111db) and when picking up small branches and other bigger bits of garden debris it can really cause a commotion when passing through the blade. Another issue which others have alluded to is the quality of the dust bag. Within 30 seconds of use, a tear appeared around the seems of the zip. A bit of black gorilla tape inside and out fixed the problem but i did fear the worst but thought I'd carry on and I'm glad i did. The suction power is good and picks up a lot on first pass. Manouverability, like i said, is ok if you go with the grain of your lawn but even if you don't you just need to give it a good push forward. The wheels are of a decent size and help move the GG3 along nicely. If you have an artificial lawn which you struggle to keep clean than this is a must. I can't speak for longevity as I've only used it on a handful of occasions so far but, apart from the tear in the bag, I've had no problems. I've included pictures of some before and after shots as well as the tear in the bag. I have not really used the blower part of the GG3 so can't comment on that. But it seems simple enough to use, with a lever you move into the blow position. If i ever get the need to use it, I'll come back here and update my review. Hope this review has helped others who were in a similar situation to me and at wits end to make an informed decision about the GG3. Oh yes, please do remember that if you do use the GG3 on your artificial lawn, it will also pick up the sand which is used to lay the lawn and give it stability. You will need to replace this from time to time.

Clean up !!!
Lightweight and easy to use only problem is the bag , its very thin and tears easy, I have had to stitch it twice but it does the job I bought it for, will be ordering another bag which I believe are not too expensive. Overall a good machine which makes clearing up leaves a walk in the park !!!!

Poor quality bags make unit un-useable
The unit itself is good but we have been through so many bags and keep sewing up holes etc this unit is poor quality and currently after 5 bags not able to be used until this issue is rectified.I am very disappointed in this unit as we end up spending more time clearing up after the bag splits that using the unit.Purchase with extreme care

Good suction. Bad bag.
Likes:Not bad suction - picks up most standard debris, struggles with twigs (just like most garden vacs).Long cable - no extension needed in my garden, which is decent size.Relatively cheap - but you can tell.Dislikes:Quite flimsy - build quality leaves a lot to be desired.Useless blower feature - I expected a hose of some sort, so I could control the blower nozzle. But no.Annoying cutoff switch position - across the top of the handle would be better (I find myself having to hold the switch in an awkward position to be comfortable - its made for people shorter than 5'10")The bag - there's nothing to like about it.1. Its paper thin. I've had small twigs already sticking through the side of it (pierced like a needle). It will rip if anything touches it the wrong way.2. Dust gets through it. Every use, I'm caked in it, and the machine itself has literally changed colour because of it.3. It's secured using a tie wrap. A standard nylon tie wrap fixes the bag to the clip which holds it on the machine.4. The clip itself is awkward. It barely fits over the coupler that it clips to, and when you do finally get it in place its awkward to get on. Comes off easy enough though.5. The support clips don't work. The bag has 4 plastic clips to fasten it to the handle and hold it in place, but the clips are all the same size. The handle bar changes diameter half way up (at the joint) and the clips don't grip the top half (where they're meant to hold) at all.Needless to say, I'm not a fan of the bag.All in all - 3 starts because as garden hoovers go this one is relatively cheap. You get what you pay for I guess.

DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE - GUARANTEE WORTHLESS!
I would have given nil stars if permitted. I bought this garden vacuum on Amazon. Basically the machine has broken down and is still in the 2 year guarantee period. Garden Gear do not want to know and, in fact, they keep on closing my correspondence case down with Amazon. I must have spoken to at least 15 people at Amazon and I found that Amazon were not particially helpful. and being I have spent thousands and thousands pounds buying items from them, I feel very disappointed and let down by them them. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM AS YOU MAY LAND UP WITH A FAULTY MACHINE WHICH IS STILL IN THE GUARANTEE PERIOD AND THIS GUARANTEE IS WORTHLESSLater:Since posting my bad review l have had an email from Amazon to which this problem had now been settled but l still feel that the company could have treated me better being the vac was still in the one year warranty and on further investigation l now see that it had a TWO YEAR GUARANTEE!. Thank you.
