Does the clay contain any milk, egg or nut products?

Polymer clay is PVC based, and its entirety is called a "plastisol". It's the same sort of thing Barbie dolls are made from, and highly unlikely to contain natural products such as the allergens you list, as they would break down the binding process, I believe. I hope that helps a bit.

Is this the really soft stuff, so small hands can mould?

Its is soft but some are a bit tough I usually put some water in the tough ones to soften them up and it helps!

Does it come with a manual?

No, it comes with a little booklet with a list of contents. It's really easy to work with though, I did it with an 18month old and a 14 year old and they both enjoyed it. We made woodland animals and African animals and some jewellery. There's still some left. Well worth the cost x
