Very nice rail but bulky for our purposes. We actually use this rail with the camera mounted on the top side and use the hotshoe provided to mount to tripod or gorillapod for vlogging. We have a few different brands which I must admit are much thinner and weigh less which is a plus. The product is nice but I would recommend shopping for something with a lighter build unless you need bulk.It does its job. That counts for a few stars.

No complaints so far! I use this to hold my video camera along side a small shotgun mic. I appreciate that it's actually made out of metal which makes me a bit more confident putting expensive stuff in it.

Excellent product, was much lighter than i expected. Very strong and sturdy material.

The bar with is too small for a standard flash hot shoe. The width is too small. Returned.

For some reason the shoe at the top is so thin that most of my attachments can't slide into it facing forward. They face to the side. That's fine when the attachment can swivel, and many can, but my CN-160 lights can't. Bummer.

Needed something to mount 3 wireless receivers above my Tascam DR-70 digital mixer/recorder. This fits the bill perfectly! Although the DR-70 has a hot shoe mount, I decided to Velcro the extension bar to the DR-70 which allows me to leave the 3 wireless receivers in place when closing the lid on my sound gear flight case. Tested the kit at a recent wedding. Quick to set up and just as quick to pack away at end of shoot. Amazing how many different types of equipment can be mounted on these extension mount bars and indeed the mount bar can be mounted on! Worth keeping one in your kit bag!!

Really unhappy with this product, i bought it and it has been left in the cupboard. The mount only allows the items (in this instance mic and on board light) to be mounted from back to front not side to side, which means i either have obstructed sound, or shadows on my subject from mic. surely when buying a hot shoe adaptor it should state which way round it is to be mounted only, and the photo examples in this case are misleading. Waste of money, wanted to avoid buying a v shoe mount but have now been left with no choice but to do so. Shame as if this product had been designed to accommodate the items either way and you could choose which type you wanted it would have done the trick. Also the connector on the mount and between the actual mount doesn't screw tight so it swivels. Pointless product.

This product was disappointing, I have only found a way to attach this to the camera in the opposite orientation to how the picture depicts. Therefore, it will only slide on in the line with the camera. When putting a microphone in front of a light, inevitably it blocks some of the light and doesn't work as well as expected.
