Woofin' good Birthday party cake!
I just made this cake for our Boxer dog's birthday party today. It was a small family do, just me and my husband, Koa (10 years old on 1/24, a male brindle) and Kye (5 years old on 1/1, he's a fawn). I bought a 7 X 10-inch small silicone dog bone shaped pan and the one box mix fit the pan perfectly. This box is small, it's not the size of a regular cake mix. If you want a large cake or need to make lots of cupcakes for a big canine soiree, then get 2 boxes. It is important to me to have food that eliminates wheat, corn and soy and limited ingredients. The first ingredient in the cake mix is rice flour, then evaporated cane juice, pumpkin, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. The frosting is made from tapioca starchand dehydrated yogurt. I can comfortably live with that. Simple is good. The cake was easy to mix, baked nicely (I had to leave it in the oven a few minutes longer than the recipe instructs but that may just be my oven) and had a nice pumpkin aroma. The frosting is different than regular cake frosting. Probably due to the tapioca base, it has a thicker texture so I added a few drops of water to it and it reminded me of "flooding" frosting. It did set up quickly though. I made whipped cream frosting tinted blue and edged the cake. Candles and their names on the cake and, voila! My first doggy baking experience. I did not actually eat any but I did taste a bit and it was fine but dense. The dogs loved it. I wish I had pictures but I used my iPad and got pics of the dogs but not the cake! Should I go to the trouble of re-creating the event to capture it in picture form??? It is worth noting as stated on the box: "A portion of our profits are donated each year to rescue organizations throughout he US." and it is made in the USA. Great to hear it! Just curious: Can I assume ingredients are sourced in the US? And I'd be interested to know which rescue groups are benefiting from these sales and how much is a portion? Bottom line: 5 stars because the dogs ate it. Well, Kye will eat just about anything so of course he inhaled his piece. Our older dog Koa is a picky eater and ate quite a bit of the cake and seemed to enjoy the frosting best. The mix was fast, easy, baked up nicely, has good ingredients and the manufacturer shows to have canine interest at heart, is socially responsible and supports our economy. Next party we will have the peanut butter cake.

Quick and Easy
Quick and easy to make. Enough to share with his friends. I gave it four stars because of the price. Best part, he loved his pumpkin birthday cupcakes.

Birthday pup-cakes!
Super easy to make! I added cranberries, a sweet potato cream cheese frosting and a bacon topper - they looked so yummy! The other was the pup-fetti and used the glazed frosting and added permission juice and a fruitables topper. Took them to her day care and everyone thought we had bought them at a bakery! Was a fun birthday party with her friends! They didn’t last long!

Easy to prepare
I am sorry about this review. My dog just didn't like them. Don't think anything is wrong with this product, she is picky about her food!
