This 6 In-Line set of Kluson tuning machines was used on all vintage 6 in-line Fender Strat, Fender Tele and many other models of Fender instruments. This model Kluson tuning machine is also a direct replacement for all current re-issue 50's and 60's Fender production and Fender signature series that utilize a split post (safety post) vintage style tuning machine. "Kluson Deluxe" stamped on the casing in a single row, as per originals. These are six individual tuners (not on a plate). All hardware including bushings and mounting screws are included in the set. Please note: If you are retro-fitting a vintage instrument that has been modified or putting this vintage style tuning machine on a modern instrument you may also need to purchase the part # MB65N-L US "adapter bushings" to convert a larger size peghole to vintage size to allow for proper fit and function. Great product & even better service.
I have purchased Klusons from WD Music direct in the past and am delighted that I can now enjoy shopping with them with the convenience of Amazon. Their customer service is second to none and, as you will see, certainly the best value for Klusons in the UK.So why buy Klusons at all when there are cheaper alternatives that look the same? You are obviously reading this as you know Klusons to be the original choice of Fender, and others, since the 50's. If you a re building or restoring an early specification guitar then you want it to be accurate. You don't get any more accurate than using the exact same product as was employed on the original guitar - even down to choosing the format of lettering subject to the year of manufacture. While authenticity is very important it only goes so far in user enjoyment. There is no denying these are a premium price product but they also provide premium performance. Even unloaded the gearing is clean and precise with no back lash or slop. They might look like cheap pressed tuners (in line with their vintage authenticity) but they feel every bit as good to use as any modern tuner, spooling cleanly with no slop or creep. So you need not feel like you are compromising on performance just to get the look and authenticity of a vintage guitar.Authenticity aside I actually prefer the convenience of the "SafeTiString" Posts on Klusons (the original choice is always the best). If you have to destring a guitar for reasons of maintenance, building etc. you can often despool and respool the string with Kluson split posts without having to replace the strings with new. This is a great saving if you are changing pickups, guards etc. as you don't need to throw away a set of strings if they aren't ready for changing. So, in summary:- Kluson best and most accurate Vintage choice and WD Music best supplier of choice.

Good vintage style tuners
These tuners perform well. They're Korean made (as is much of Fender's own hardware) and have that air of authenticity for 60s-styles guitars that used the Kluson brand. This single line stamp appeared on guitars during the 50s and continued into the early-to-mid 60s before they were replaced with a two-line stamp. The nickel is quite bright and not as blue as some tuners of this type. I found the bushings to be a little loose (only very slightly) on a Mexican Fender neck and wrapped them each is a small strip of tape for a snugger fit. They look great. One thing to note is that the exact positioning of the "Kluson Deluxe" text is a little different to the originals, so they aren't exact reproductions.
