Vampire baiting, satire, sex and mystery
With Baited Blood, Sue Ann Jaffarian has written her sexiest book yet, and even though vampires aren't really my thing, I love the mix of vampires and beaters (non-vamps) and the way Madison's love life plays a role in this mystery. Jaffarian starts off with a bang, a dead body found in the home where Madison Rose is living with vampire couple Doug and Dodie Dedham. This is not the last dead body to appear. This is not a traditional mystery in that there is not simply one detective, and even though Madison is the star, several other characters have very major roles. Madison learns more about vampire culture and ways, and she does get to show her sleuthing smarts with a few well-placed phone calls and snooping. Jaffarian makes the various subplots and erotic moments as thrilling as finding out who's behind the murders. An excellent follow-up; I look forward to more of her vampire mysteries.

A VERY GOOD SERIES BEGINNING
I DON'T KNOW HOW, BUT I GOT HOOKED ON VAMPIRE BOOKS. THE AUTHOR BUILDS HER PREMISE, BACKGROUNDS VERY WELL AND MAKES IT ALL BELIEVABLE. AND I REALLY LIKE L.A. CAN'T LIVE THERE, BUT THINK IT'S NEAT.HER CONSTRUCTION IS SOUND AND DRAWS THE READER IN WELL, TO ALL THE CHARACTERS. OR ELSE I'M SIMPLE.I ENJOYED FOLLOWING THE STORY, AS IT WAS NOT OVERLY COMPLICATED. I READ FOR ENJOYMENT, NOT TO DO BATTLE WITH THE AUTHOR.SHE IS ON PAR WITH CHRIS MOORE'S "BLOODSUCKING FIENDS" SERIES. MAYBE BETTER. I JUST LIKED IT.I HAVE TRIED TO READ OTHER VAMP BOOKS, BUT THEY GOT TOO SOMETHING. DREARY, BLOODY, WAY-OUT-THERE OR NOT PLEASURABLE. THIS AUTHOR HIT IT JUST RIGHT. I READ THE SECOND ONE, AND AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT.THIS IS A FUN BOOK AND SHOULDN'T DISTURB ANY "SENSITIVE" READERS.

Don't miss this one!
You don't have to be a vampire fan to be pulled in by Jaffarian's Madison Rose vampire books. Sue Ann's vampire characters become perfectly normal with the foibles of folks we all know. This second book in what will hopefully be a long series of books delves more deeply into the personalities of the vampires who inhabit Madison's world. A great mystery story that is enhanced by the forays into sibling interaction, romance and a touch of erotica make this a don't miss read. Be prepared for a long night, you won't want to put this one down.

Hope there is more to this series!
Would love to see if Sue Ann takes this story to the next level! Mike or Collin? - Do they have a chance with the fair Madison Rose? This book is for anyone who likes Mysteries with a twist! SITTING ON THE EDGE TO SEE IF THERE IS ANOTHER!

Fun Diversion
Being a Jaffarian fan, but not particularly fond of vampire stories, I was willing to try this one. The subject matter is not my cup of tea, but in her usual way Jaffarian made the story a fun diversion for an afternoon's read. Sue Ann's characters are always interesting creations and she doesn't disappoint with Madison Rose and her less warm cohorts.

She's done it again!
Her vampires aren't vampires - they are "people" we know and love! Great book - I hope this is a new series she will continue. Once you know the vamps you want to know what they will do next! The only problem with her books is that you can't put them down.

On the edge of my seat
Loved the first book but loved this one even more! Couple of situations had me on the edge of my seat. Especially towards the end at the castle. The very end was a bit of a shocker but sweet at the same time. Can't wait to read more!

Give Madison a chance!
Love this series! I have enjoyed the Odelia books very much but Madison has some sass and a new twist to the vampire theme. I am waiting patiently for the next installment. Please Sue Ann, give Madison another story! Highly recommend this series.
