Big Cats
I sometimes feel like I repeat myself when it comes to National Geographic produced material. They have long been known for their fantastic photographs. For these 'Everything' books, the design combines fascinating information with attractive design to make a book hard to put down. I've read a lot about big cats, but I learned quite a bit from this book. For example, big cats have 20 times more smelling power than humans, which is necessary for a hunter, but I'm not sure is always a great thing (there are lots of nasty smells in our world). The information on ligers (male lion and female tiger) and tigons (male tiger and female lion) is really interesting, including the health problems that develop from such pairings. Another part that I especially enjoyed were the photographs of big cats camouflaged in their natural environment. You could walk right by them and not see them if you weren't looking. I'll stop here, just know that this book provides hours of reading and sharing pleasure.

Fun book for kids who love big cats!
My son loves this book - and I enjoyed reading through it with him. The photos and graphics are great and there was tons of information to learn. My one complaint would be that the binding on our copy was weak; within a few days of him carrying it around and opening it (frequently), the main cover popped off. Now we just carry the book around carefully and try to keep it inside the cover. (All of the pages are still bound together.)

Loads of great photos and information
I purchased this book for my daughter for use in our homeschool. She loves cats, both domestic and wild, and wanted to learn more about them as part of our study of animals for science. The photography in this book is stunning, but else would you expect from National Geographic? Tons of useful information, and a great resource for anyone interested in learning about wild cats! This is a book that gets looked at over and over.

Big Cats- Big Surprise
I was very surprised when I opened the packaging and noticed how large this book was. I was expecting a small abbreviated paperback. The pages of the book are sleek, glossy- with high quality- life like photographs of these beautiful, awesome animals.Anyone would gain a new appreciation for big cats- simply by thumbing through the pages- and viewing these animals as theydeserve to live in their natural habitats. Humans have driven these animals to the point of extinction. We need to give them a second chance. I would recommend this book to any child- so they can develop an awareness - and a reason to save these phenomenal wild cats.

Great non-fiction for young kids!
My 9 year old son loves everything to do with wild animals, jungles, Africa, etc., and big cats are no exception. This book helped to feed his desire for more knowledge and cool information! He eagerly studies this book. The pictures are great: large and colorful. The information is presented in an exciting way, like National Geographic is known for. Great purchase!

excellent, fun, educational
Just what I was hoping for!! My 8-year old granddaughter "loves the big cats". The format is very readable and broken into smaller articles to hold a somewhat shorter attention span. I love the bright colors in the amazing pictures. Knowing this is from National Geographic, I rest assured in the accuracy of facts, statistics, and other info.

National Geographic Big Cats
My 6-year-old grandson asked me for a book about tigers. I thought the photos and the information in this book were useful and relevant for him and I am happy to say he loved it. He liked the photos best, and first and foremost the tigers depicted, but he told me - and this is only one example - that the Big Cats book had taught him to distinguish jaguars from leopards. Isn't this a good review by a 6-year-old?

A must have for animal lovers
Very pleased with this purchase. My son is an animal lover but have struggled to find text that he is able to understand and read alone. This book is excellent, informative whilst easy for him to understand. Will look to purchase others in the series
