This blanket is soft, snuggly, warm and heavy. It does feel comforting. I’ve not noticed it improves sleep. Entirely too heavy for me to use in hot weather. Do enjoy it in the winter. I think it’s probably a bit of a personal taste for a gift. There are different weights, etc.

With all the hype about how great the weighted blanket can help insomnia, I got myself one to see if it can help me to sleep better. First of all, the blanket is heavy. It has a soft cotton duvet with zipper outside. I think it weights around 15 lbs as described. I read somewhere that you need to chose the right weight of the blanket in order for it to work, which is 10% of your weight. So I am about 140lbs, and the 15 lbs blanket is right for me. To be honest, for the first couple days using it, I do not like it at all because it’s so heavy, so every time I turn, I feel like I have to lift the blanket up to turn. Secondly, it’s not breathable so that it makes me sweat a lot in hot days. However, after more than a month using it, I think I get used to it and it actually helps me sleep better. It did not help me to fall asleep, but to help me sleep deeper and stay in sleep longer. And as the weather is getting colder, it now can keep me warm at night because I feel it traps all my body heat inside the blanket. If the blanket can be used in warmer weather, it would have been perfect.

I had a hunch that I would benefit from a weighted blanket as I am a light sleeper and also suffer with general anxiety and dang is this one good. These things don't come cheap so I did my research and spent a few months deciding which one I would choose. This thing is all that and more. It hasn't been a week and I am in love for the following reasons:1. It's so so so soft2. Washable cover is a huge plus3. The blanket within the cover is so secure that it will not bunch up towards one side like my duvet and comforter do.4. This blanket is better than a sleeping pill. I sleep so deeply and wake up so rested that I'm certain it will soon pay for itself.The only cons are:1. I don't know how I will ever sleep without it again2. My son keeps trying to steal it because he loves it too3. I sleep so deeply with it that I may need a new alarm clock to get me up in the morning.Although a weighted blanket is an investment, I find the benefits to be well worth the cost. This one in particular is of superb quality and an investment in my future health and well being. I plan on buying more for each member of my family and would consider giving one as a gift to someone during the holidays. It's that good.

I love this blanket and I can't sleep without it anymore. I literally turned around and immediately bought a second one. Is there any way to order a replacement bamboo cover for it though?

We bought this in a last ditch effort to find a way for my wife to get a good night's sleep. She has suffered from post-herpetic neuralgia on her back and left side from a bout with shingles 5 years ago. It has kept her from sleeping through the night pain free because the touch of a sheet or blanket was torture. Nothing has given her any relief including everything from prescription meds to acupuncture. Under the weight of this blanket (15 pounds) she sleeps like a baby. It is truly remarkable how it has changed her life. We still use sheets underneath and a comforter on top of the bamboo weighted blanket because it isn't particularly warm since it is filled with glass beads but we didn't buy it for warmth. This review sounds a bit over the top but it is truly miraculous and has been worth every penny.

I bought both this and the Luna blanket. When I first unpacked this blanket, I loved it! It was so soft and the fabric felt cool and watery smooth in my hands. Upon taking off the duvet cover to wash, I was a little disappointed to see that the blanket itself had loose threads everywhere, and what looked suspiciously like a molted insect skin. (I really hope that doesn't have repercussions down the road; if there was a skin, were there eggs?) I trimmed the threads and washed both the duvet cover and the blankey, and they both washed beautifully.Unlike the Luna blanket, the beads really do seem to be woven into the padding. Even after washing, I couldn't see the beads sliding to the bottoms of the individual pockets.However. I slept with the blanket last night. I normally wake frequently during the night. With the Luna blanket, I went to sleep and woke up at 6:00 the next morning. With the Weighted Evolution, I woke every hour or so, finding I'd kicked the blanket off in my sleep because it's so hot. I'd cover myself back up, go back to sleep, and wake up again uncovered an hour later. The bamboo feels luxuriously cool when I'm just handling it, but it warms up really quickly when I'm surrounded by it, and holds the heat. I already have a good cotton duvet cover that I'm going to try with the blanket before returning it, but if you're buying for the "cooling" bamboo cover, as I did, I don't recommend it.

Last year I ordered this blanket, but soon realized that as much as I liked it, it was too heavy for me. I am a 110 pound, 72 year old female and the 15 pound blanket was too heavy so I contacted the company directly and explained the situation.They recommended that perhaps the kid's blanket would be more to my liking, as it is exactly the same, but smaller and lighter. It's 60" x 41" and weighs 8 pounds. The customer service was excellent! They sent me a replacement blanket and I'm so happy with it. It's perfect! I even use it when I'm sitting in my Lazy Boy lounger and I feel so totally relaxed that I even fall asleep in my chair! It actually makes me feel very calm and it is truly amazingly cozy! I'd give it 5 stars in all categories!
