I appreciated the explanations and information - I felt like I was getting expert advice
This book has been really helpful and made a big difference to my energy levels and general wellbeing. At the end of the winter, I was feeling tired and depleted, and some symptoms that seemed thyroid related but normal thyroid test results. I was quite motivated to follow this programme, as I've been following Aviva Romm for a while, and I have already been convinced of the power of food as medicine. I appreciated the explanations and information - I felt like I was getting expert advice. I downloaded the book as a kindle for laptop, which didn't work very well, as there is a lot of information and you need to keep referring to food plans, etc. The recipes are great, which makes a big difference when trying to follow a new way of eating. I started six weeks ago, and the differences are really quite significant - I have much more energy, feel calmer and have lost weight.

Most insightful book I’ve ever read
This book literally combines, science, common sense and the god given way we should be living in such a toxic world. I am literally fired up to start this new lifestyle and help others to do the same

Useful
This is a comprehensive and really useful plan, with lots of practical whole-person tips. I'm only giving it four stars because the Kindle edition is difficult to navigate - I feel like for the price the book is selling at, the author could easily afford to pay someone to sort out a proper TOC.

Very insightful book
Great informative book . The chapters are broke down in easy to understand terms and easy to read. It all makes sense when explained properly. Dr. Aviva Romm has extensive experience and the advice is priceless. The recipes are great and easy to follow too and the exclusion diet really works wonders when you stick to it. A great book definitely recommended.

AMAZING BOOK! A must ready for every woman battling with fatigue, weight gain and autoimmune diseases!
A friend recommended this book to me and it is the best self help book I have ever bought. Having Struggled for 9 months feeling fatigued and poorly with aching muscles and joints, feeling shaky, palpitations, and battling with my GP to acknowledge my thyroid level is not "Normal" and being told by another GP it was my age and my hormones, this book was the breath of fresh air I needed. It explains why we feel as we do and how you can reboot your body. Aviva Romm has years of experience treating women with autoimmune issues so really knows her stuff. I have only cut out gluten and reduced my dairy and sugar intakes but feel so much better and have lost 8lbs in a month. I am so happy to have gone down this route rather than be on thyroxine. It's a shame that GPS can't prescribe books!

It's not for everyone
I really wanted to like this book. A lot of what the author wrote made sense and though she got very technical and repetitive in places I could see the direction she was trying to take. As someone with limited food options already in place, the diet plan is nay on impossible to follow unless you could count water and "organic" coffee as acceptable intake of calories for the week, not sure how my blood pressure would fair though. A little disappointed but it didn't go to waste, passed it on to someone who may benefit more from this but again, I think the diet plan is too strict and doubt they will follow it either.

At last a book that explains everything in my language
The first resource that I've found that just makes complete sense. It describes in detail, but in a language I understand, what is going wrong with my body - and more importantly reassures me that I can make myself better. I have had Hashimoto's for many years and even though I take Levothyroixine and go private to get medication for T3 which has cost me a small fortune, I still suffer from exhaustion, exercise intolerance, anxiety and depression all of which has impacted my life. I am yet to implement the four week plan, and if I can stick to it I am hopeful of an improvement in my symptoms.

Excellent!
This is an excellent book for anyone who has any chronic health issues, from tiredness to more complex auto immune problems.The explanations are very clear, the advice regarding what to eat straight forward. You have recipes if you don't know what to do and step by step instructions from one week to the next. And more importantly, it works!
