The energy from the motors means the hob will heat up as fast as when cooking with and when you lower the temperature, your pans will start cooling straight-away because they are not waiting for the elements to cool The touch controls are conveniently located at the front and this means the hob has a completely flat surface where dirt can't hide and the slider controls means you can quickly change the power level without having to keep pressing the controls like with traditional touch controls. The timer can be set in two ways, either as a minute minder so when the time is reached the hob beeps, or you can set it so that one or more zones switch off automatically when the time is reached - great if you are busy and don't want to worry about burning down the kitchen.
