You rarely fail with Eric Carle. Idiscovered him after stumbling upon hisThe Very Hungry Caterpillar--a great book.We all must have it for children's library.Then I bought Do You Want to be My Friend,From Head to Toe and Brown Bear. All hisbooks are wonderful, I must say.In this book, the little mouse eventuallyfinds someone like him to play with. Carl mighthave given a rabbit or any other small animalas the mouse's friend. Yet, the way the twomice cuddle up in a burrow, I think theymake great friends.

My Baby loves this book. I bot it when she was 9 months or so.. but did not show her much.. as she loved other books.Now she is 14 months, and she recognizes more animals.. and hence loves this book. When I go through this book, she is always excited for the animal that comes next.I love her smile when I read this book to her!

This has be the best... guess who is the next animal and you can provide your own animated of telling this simple story in a delightful manner...

Once you pick an Eric carle for your child, it is hard to resist the other stories. I bought this one after introducing my son to 'the very hungry caterpillar'. The colourful collages and illustrations are very engaging for the child. Every page creates an interaction and a guessing game between the story reader and the child.

Great to help your child identify animals.

the content is good but remember this is a miniature edition, it is only palm size, not comfortable for the little ones to hold & read.

Love to use this book to teach kindness. Highly recommend.

Great book. Love that there are few words so the reader has to infer the story. Decorated higher order thinking in kids :)

I have just finished reading this story to English as a second language pupils, and they loved it. Apart from the question " Do you want to be my friend?" There is no text, so you can make up your own story. The pupils loved guessing the animals, but it was a pity that the elephant was shown only on the front cover, instead of within the rest of the story as well. Also, and perhaps I am being too fussy here, I would rather that the title had been, " Would you like to be my friend?" As it sounds more polite. Otherwise it was a great success.
