Best salty waves product I’ve used
First things first, I’m an Italian gal with medium thick curly hair that is a 2C type on top and a 3A type underneath (All you curly girls will know what I mean!) so it’s a whole lot of trial and error when it comes to finding the products that work best for my hair. Right now the combination that is working very well for me is as follows… I spray my hair right out of the shower with My black Is Beautiful Moisturizing Refreshing Spray (Golden Milk With Honey & Coconut Oil) and finger comb through my hair. Then I section my hair and use the praying method to apply My Black Is Beautiful Nourishing Leave In Conditioner (Although this product is moisturizing it’s more like a styling cream in my opinion). I scrunch my hair and finger curl any pieces that need it. Then I take a dime sized amount of this product, Pacifica Salty Waves Beach Hair Balm and rub it up in my palms and then lightly scrunch it all throughout my hair. It’s important to make sure your hair is almost soaking wet before applying the Salty Waves Beach Hair Balm, especially near the ends of the hair, not sure why but it makes a difference so re-wet your hair before applying the Beach Hair Balm if it’s started to dry. I like to air dry for minimal heat damage and once it’s fully dry I flip my head side to side and shake the hair so the curls break up a bit and I’m left with that “I spent the day at the beach” hair that we’re all constantly trying to achieve. I’ve tried every product, at all different price points, in every combination you can imagine and finally hit it right with this combination of products. I’ve also tried the Pacifica Pineapple Swirl Curl Defining Cream but it left my hair feeling tacky and I much prefer the Salty Waves Hair Balm. As for the smell that so many people have commented on, it’s not strong at all. It contains sea algae and banana so there is a mild tropical smell but I’ve never received a bottle that smelled rancid or anything but mildly tropical. It’s a 100% vegan and cruelty-free product for those who that’s important to and for the price why not give it a try?

Great for thick hair
I have thick shorter hair that tends to get frizzy in the humidity. This is my go to hair cream. I place it on my dry hair and it smoothes the frizz and gives me just the right amount of waves. It’s lightweight and doesn’t make my hair feel weighed down. There is a nice beach smell. I recommend this if you want to smooth thicker hair and keep a little wave

Love this curl cream!
This curl cream works great! It smells great(a hint of banana and coconut scent). A little product goes a long way! It arrived on time and in good condition there were so leaks or rips. I have wavy hair roughly 2c-3a. This product isn't super greasy and definitely helps with definition and hold. My hair does feel a bit crunchy after using it so make sure to scrunch out the crunch! It does weigh down my curls a little bit. Great price!

Best beachy hair balm
I love this beachy hair balm, makes my hair so smooth and smells incredible. Also the texture is really nice, not real thick weighing it down but does the job! Definitely worth the price.

TERRIBLE SMELL after a few weeks
I received this product and loved the beach wave texture it created but after a few weeks the product started to smell terrible and I couldn’t use it. I contacted the company that told me the manufacturer must have left it on the shelf for too long (as if this was normal)… when I looked up the marketplace where I bought it here on Amazon I see that it came directly from brand. I had bought almost their entire line and absolutely do not appreciate their lousy customer service and lack of accountability for a product with such a lousy fishy smell that I now question what the heck they use to make it. They should have provided a better reply and support… AVOID this brand and product.

I want to order more!!
I was a little hesitant about buying this after reading reviews. I have VERY thick course hair, that's also curly when wet but dries straight and frizzy. Most of the reviews weren't very good, but I took the chance. I washed my hair and put this on after I towel dried it. The smell was heavy of bananas but with a tropical twist. It came out a little thich, but went over my hair very nicely. Though I used more than I should have, like 2 quarter size bits. I had my daughter put dutch braids in my hair and left them in for well over 12 hours. I got home the next morning after work took my hair down and my hair was actually wavy and so soft to the touch. I've now been using this for over a week and I gotta say I absolutely love it. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star is because it does give it a lot of volume, which I already have enough of. I'm not sure why everyone is saying they smell like a big banana, because I certainly don't. I guess the smell of my shampoo and conditioner is just as strong so I don't smell what everyone else does. I have also used this on my hair while it's been dry and it does give it a more textured look to it.UPDATE: using this products for 2 weeks now. I have decreased the size amount that I am using because it did way down my hair. I have been using it after I get out of the shower on my towle dried hair. I put maybe a dime size amount in my pamls and work it through root to ends. My hair is still drying straight but still not frizzy, but yet this does not give me beachy waves. Still my hair is soft. IDK if I want to try and return it or not.
