Where do you get the tool to unscrew the top to change the battery?

It’s in the box that the sensors came in, it’s black plastic and looks like a cleat removing tool.

Do you need to have the watch ?

Yes you need to pair each sensor with a compatible Garmin watch. You can then back up the watch to the Garmin golf app on your mobile phone to review your stats etc.
