Small, powerful, convenient chuck
The drill is short, which makes it convenient in narrow spaces. It's powerful enough and has 2 speeds, so it can be easily used as a screw driver. It's balanced very well, even when using a large 5 Ah battery. The chuck is immobilised at rest, so you can fix a drill bit in it with one hand. Have had about ten different cordless drills, but so far, I think this one is the best - for the money.

It's brilliant, nice weight, and easy to use
Nothing I didn't like about this drill, lovely handy size, and I didn't have to buy a new set of drill bits, as this one took my old ones

A good and lightweight drill with an irritating flaw
I have bought into Ryobi one+ range in a big way and I am very happy with them all, some more than others of course.I bought this to complement my R18PDBL-0 as a bit lighter and smaller. After using it for a few months I am overall happy with it. It has a lot of power and battery life is excellent. The flaw that stops it being my go to drill is the chuck and braking mechanism. The chuck is ratchet, which is fine, but the brake is very very abrupt if you take your finger of the trigger. So after a few holes / screws the chuck becomes loose and the bit falls out. The only way round seems to do the chuck up with the strength of a demented gorilla, (I know most gorillas aren't demented, but you get the idea), and carefully feather the trigger off. Even then it's a sharp stop and can still loosen the chuck. Next thing to try is a strap wrench to tighten it.The e-Torque isn't necessarily any better than a torque ring, just different and can be useful. The torque ring sets a clutch so if the material you are driving into isn't consistent resistance then the screw heads wont all be flush. The e-Torque kicks in at a preset resistance and starts pulsing the bit with quarter turns so it's up to you to stop when the screw head is flush or recessed as you want. It has the torque to push them in as far as you want ! So horses for courses.

Good Value for Money.
This was purchased to replace another brand that the brushes wore out and I can not find spares. I have already 2 Ryobi drills from 10 years still going strong. So I have no fear about its life. I had a choice of this or a Dewalt. Went for this as I already had a charger and will be buying non OEM batteries.Drill has 40NM and is more than capable. Far higher than other drills I have. The electronic torque is no better than the old torque rings and I have yet to get the hang of it. The drill does not have a gearbox, its speeds are electronically controlled by what speed the motor is run at. so even in speed 2 if you turn on the electronic screw torque, the speed is the same.I went for a 2,5AHr and it manages a day (just). Previous drill, not a Ryobi was 2 x 1.5AHr and it need both for a shift.. My charger is a bit slow as older and not a fast charger, but within 1.5 hrs it is charged. It is a good drill, bit heavy and the electronic torque is no better than old type. It has bags of torque and controlled lower speed in 2nd higher speed. it is also comfy to use. I've 100 sheets of drywall to put up soon, After this I'm sure I will have mastered the E-torque control, If I find it better than old type I will update the review :-)UPDATE:- its taken a while to get used to the Electronic torque and although i'm getting the hang of it, its still only a very slight improvement over the mechanical control. For light work its best to use slow speed and control it yourself. Dont buy it for this feature. I'm still pleased with what I purchased and It works well.I see reports of the chuck slackening off. Wish I could reply to them all. Its a ratchet chuck Ryobi have fitted. Tighten it and you will feel and hear many small clicks. Once as tight as you want, turn it as if loosening, till it clicks just once. It doesn't move much and this locks the chuck from slackening during use.
