Inadequate quality control
I am an amateur woodworker and have been using routers for a few years now. As expected I have purchased router bits from different manufacturers and based on my experience have acquired some idea regarding the a good quality control of some brands. Now I have decided to try CMT (the price difference along with fair costumer reviews). Upon arrival of my order I have inspected the bit and right away have noticed a defective carbide polishing finish. I have contacted CMT costumer service, and provided the photo of the defected bit. I was advised to ship the bit back to manufacturer for a replacement. Now, the manufacturer quality control is inadequate, and yet the costumer is suppose to pay the price: time invested in packing and shipping, paying the return shipping fee, as well delayed initial project caused by the defective bit. I learned my lesson and will be purchasing from reliable brands in the future.
