Crane Hair Clip, Small Hand Crafted Metal Barrette Made in the USA with a 60mm Imported French Clip by Oberon Design

This is my absolute favorite barrette. I get lots of compliments on it, too. I've misplaced mine, so I'm ordering another. Don't want to do without it. If I find the other, I will give one away.

What do I like about it?I love the graceful arch of it's neck and turn of the wings so I picked this birdie barrette and it didn't disappoint.What do I use it for?My hair, of course! I braid a high braid near the top of my head in the back. I slide the barrette in through the top layer of hair above the base of the braid. It glides right through and doesn't snag. It clicks in place on first try. That makes me happy. I wind the rest of my braid around the barrette and now I have a bun. The barrette holds everything in place. I don't need any extra pins, hairscrews or even a ponytail holder. I don't even use one for the bottom of the braid, actually. When I take it out, it unlocks quickly and comes out smoothly without pulling my hair with it. It's beautiful. I love it.What don't I like?It is a little small. I can't use it to clip all my hair in a ponytail, but it's strong enough to hold my hair in a bun without hurting all day so that's not really a problem for me. It works well for what I want it to do. I will probably buy more from them :)

Never wore a barrett before I ordered this one. But I do love it for holding bangs off forehead totally. It's small enough for my thin straight grey hair. Looks amazing on it too. Wish they made more small barrets like this one.

I never realised how cheap my old barrett was until I used this. I have thick islander curls that are also very silky and I had to be very careful selecting the amount of hair to pull for the "half an half" look I do for work with it. I put that in quotations because in reality it could barely hold even a quarter of my hair. It would spring open if I added just one more lock of hair than it could handle and if I finagled with it too much trying to fit it around my hair it would break altogether refusing to close or the closing part would pop out and I'd have to fix it and try again.I honestly expected the crane to have similar capacity since I knew it was the smallest size but oh he was so pretty and I figured it would be a nice piece just for holding the front pieces of my hair away from my face. Boy was I wrong. Despite being a similar size this little barrett is so much stronger and robust and holds the same about of hair, maybe even a bit more than my old one, with ease. I couldn't believe how easy it was. There was no struggle no feeling like I was forcing it. I could feel a reassuring little click when a closed it and that was it. And once it's was in it doesnt move; it's rather lightweight despite being metal and doesn't feel like its weighing my hair down at all. It might seem a bit pricy but it feels like its built to last and with a lot of care. To me it's a fair investment because I'll be using this clip a lot!

This barrette is beautifully detailed. As the description says it is indeed small and since my hair is kind of thick the barrette doesn't hold that much of it. Therefore I just use it for it's decorative qualities, and oh boy, does it have great decorating qualities!

Loved this hairclip, and now housekeeping at my last hotel is apparently loving it. Just replaced it. This one is perfect for my fine hair. I I have a different one from the same company that works better when I want to pull all of my hair up in a ponytail. Anything made by this company is excellent quality and uniquely tasteful. I would gift this to a friend.

I have thin hair. I was concerned about the size and weight when I received it. Hasn't moved all day, and no pulling. Fine craftsmanship.

Das sieht auch schön aus keine Frage, aber die größere, die ich vorher schon hatte, ist wesentlich besser, wenn man ein Kleinkind zu Hause hat, dass gerne mal an den Haaren zieht.

Excellent quality and workmanship. Beautiful and unusual design. I wouldn’t hesitate to order other designs from this range. Packaged very thoughtfully in gift box with note describing how it is handmade. Would make a lovely thoughtful gift but I’m not parting with mine!

Was just looking for a smallish hair clip and came across this. Paid much more than I had in mind but it is a thing of beauty and should last a good, long time.
