Sturdy, works as described
Nice, sturdy, easy to use pump sprayer! We bought this to spray an agent to help protect our driveway from salts and freezing water in the winter.Easy to fill, pump and spray. Only thing that could be improved is the piece that hold the wand when not in use.

Good sprayer
Works good. Noticed sometimes it won’t stop spraying till you release the pressure from the tank.

Was a game changer… no more :(
Updated review after purchase of my second sprayer one year later (below review was for first sprayer). Had to return second sprayer as it leaked just as other reviewers have also experienced. The sprayer vessel tank wouldn’t hold pressure (leaked air at the T-handle in the locked position) and dripped fluid at the wand connection points. Made a mess. Super disappointed after having such a great experience with prior unit.Love this thing! I have been resealing my driveway annually for 6 years and so wish I had found this sooner! I was originally told a pump sprayer could be used for resealing and foolishly bought one of those cheap plastic garden ones which was a total fail trying to spray the solvent based sealer. I subsequently went to roll on application which was time consuming and messy but did it year after year until I figured there had to be a better spray applicator and this for real is perfect. What used to take me 4 to 6 hours and a ton of effort took probably 1 to 1.5 hours with next to no effort and the finish is so superior to the roll on results. Uncertain how it will do next year (I cleaned it with xyelene and water) but even if I don’t get another use out of it it was worth every penny.

Well designed and made
I have gone through two schools of thought on pump sprayers for harsh chemicals, waterproofing, etc. one was just get the cheapest sprayer at a box box store use it a day and toss it, or buy a non reactive sprayer like this use it, clean thoroughly at the end of the day and use again and again. When I first started in business I used the latter strategy however used the disposable technique when the number of employees grew well beyond my ability to make sure the pump sprayers were cleaned out well at the end of the day. Now as I get older, for my own purposes I more appreciate using well taken care of quality tools. This pump sprayer is an example of that thinking. The intangibles of this sprayer are many but the spray is a better consistency and it doesn’t drip. The fan nozzle is very nice for spraying waterproofing or sealants. I also have never had this sprayer clog - that may be luck but it may be design too.

Good sprayer, but beware damaged units.
So far, I have used the unit once and it seems to be well built. Much better than the "standard" sprayers I have found at Home Depot. However, receiving an undamaged unit was another story. The first order arrived after 9 days of waiting. It was severely damaged. The wand was bent (crimped) to the point of it being non-usable. The wand grip (on/off) was also severely bent, and the tank had a dent. I immediately called Amazon, and they agreed to overnight a replacement. However, I was then told they were no longer in stock, and I'd have to wait between a month to a month and a half!! They knocked a few dollars off the price (and it was already on sale) so the final price was too good to refuse. I waited. After 3 weeks, I noticed Amazon had it listed as in stock, so I called and asked them to make sure I got one of the remaining units. I told them the first unit was damaged, and could they make sure that I got a new and undamaged replacement. I was told the supplier is Chapin (direct) and they would make note of my request. The new unit arrived 2 days later, and I was very disappointed to see that this unit too was damaged. This time the wand and handle were fine, but the tank had a big dent. Since I needed the unit and had been waiting over a month, I decided to keep it (dent and all).BOTH units I received showed up in UN-damaged (pristine) packaging! Since the units are all steel and brass, I found it impossible that they could have gotten damaged inside those boxes. This means that either they were damaged at the factory, and placed in the box un-noticed. Or (most likely) were returns that were re-packaged and sold as new. Although the unit works well and is solidly built, I recommend buying it in a store so that you can inspect it first. If need be, return it easily for a replacement. At this point, I don't trust Chapin. On to the sprayer itself... When full (about 3 1/2 gallons) the sprayer can be relatively heavy. I am a big guy, yet carrying it around the yard by hand (no strap option) was a chore. If you don't need the larger 3 1/2 gallon capacity, a smaller unit would be much easier to lug around. The spray nozzle produces a "wide" spray. The pump is easily twisted to "unlock" and compress the air. A quick twist "locks" it again so that the handle can be used to carry it around. As I mentioned, I've only used it once, but my first impression is that overall it's a good sprayer. A bit larger and heavier than I imagined, therefore a strap option would have been a welcome (and smart) addition. Even though there is an optional strap listed for this sprayer, it is not built to accommodate it (no loops or any other way to attach). I chose this unit because there were optional accessories, one of which I needed. I wanted a sprayer that would have as long a wand as possible (I am spraying poison and want it to be as far from me as I could get it). Chapin offers a 12 inch straight extension (Chapin part number 3-7727) which made the wand's overall length about 36 inches. If the unit was not damaged, I would have given it 4 stars.

Decent
Good build however the rubber washers wore down after 2nd use. Made it unusable, and cant buy the correct replacements for it.Will have to buy hardware store alternatives to make this thing work again.Spray is nowhere near even, outer edges are much stronger streams in the fan pattern.Decent sprayer but not worth the price tag.
