How long does this item stay lit without charging? Can you charge at the same time as you are illuminating?

It does not have a battery to charge, if it is plugged in it can rotate. Then you can turn the light on & off. If you unplug it the light will go out and it will not rotate

What happens when the light in the lamp dies? How would I change it?

The LED life time is about 50000 hours , if you light 12 hours day, that 'about 11 years , anything need help ,please contact VGAzer for help
