Creativity for Kids Beaded Snowflake Ornaments - Create 6 DIY Ornaments - Holiday Crafts for Kids, Christmas Activities for Girls and Boys Ages 8-12+

About 10 years ago beaded kits for Christmas tree ornaments were common enough to be able to pick up a few before Christmas. Now, they are getting harder to find. I got this one for my adult daughter who in turn took it with her when she visited her very young cousins. Their ages range from 7-13 and they had no problems following the directions and putting together some snowflake ornaments for their tree. They enjoyed themselves very much. We look forward to doing this type of activity in the future again with them. So in a sense, we were passing on a tried and true tradition from our family to my sister's family.There were a few problems once they tried to hang the ornaments, so if you have a hot glue gun on hand, that may be a help. They didn't, so the problem was easily solved without one. That seemed to be a workable solution and we will definitely be putting another of these kits on my wishlist to purchase again in the future. I highly recommend this kit for nearly all ages. It's simple, and the end product is beautiful and can be saved for future tree trimming.

We had a blast making these last year! I'm not crafty, so it's great when I find a set like this so we can still have homemade ornaments. These are so cute and easy to make. We just hang each sweater's hanger directly on the tree, and they look adorable. I can't wait to get them out this year and for many years to come!

I was so impressed with this snowflake ornament kit! It surpassed my expectations and I highly recommend it. I saw from the product description and photos how many different kinds of beads there were, and I fully expected them to come in a number of tiny plastic bags (which they did). What I didn’t expect was that each plastic bag would be tucked into a piece of molded plastic in the general shape of a snow flake, creating a small well/bowl to hold each different kind of bead. It made set up and execution of the craft so much easier! I had gotten out a tray and a few bowls to hold the different beads, but all I needed was the tray for my daughter to work over - bc she did drop beads from time to time! I never would’ve had enough tiny bowls for all the different kinds of beads, so the way the product was packaged was very thoughtful and much appreciated. I wish I had snapped a picture when all the beads were in their respective places – I didn’t think to get a picture until she was completely finished with all of the ornaments, unfortunately. But hopefully the picture gives you an idea of what the set up is.My daughter had a great time making the ornaments. She is 7 1/2 and could easily do it herself, though it is a good thing that I was the one opening the small plastic bags and pouring the beads in to the snowflake-shaped plastic container, as I feel sure some might have spilled and bounced away if she had done that. The instructions mentioned having an adult put a dab of glue at the end of each spoke of the snowflake and then putting the cap on, which we did, though I think she could have done the glue herself as well. I appreciated that the kit included the glue, as well as ribbons to hand the ornaments and lovely envelopes to hold each snowflake ornament in case you are giving them as gifts. It really contained everything you need! We bought the kit to use as part of a holiday zoom with my daughter’s grandparents. We had a second kit shipped to them and they made ornaments together while sipping hot chocolate and chatting over zoom. Both the grandparents and my daughter had a wonderful time!

Fun for me but I am not sure the little person I got if for will find it easy to use, just because of the size not because of any defect. Well organized kit with beautiful beads. Clear directions on how to make the ornaments, The kit encourages gift giving with included gift envelopes. The box itself is very pretty, too. I think it makes a great gift.

What a fun kit! I can't wait to see these ornaments hanging on my tree!We received 7 wire forms, and we had more than enough beads to fill all the forms. The beads came in a molded plastic tray with a lid that fit each cavity, keeping the beads secure when not in use. You can be creative in your designs, or you can follow the patterns on the box.The only con with the kit was the included glue - it didn't adhere. The silicone end caps hold enough to finish the design, but they're not enough for a completed ornament. I plan to complete these by hot gluing the end caps.

My grandchildren ages 3 - 11 all loved making these. The 3-year-old needed a little help securing the end piece, but she created her own design and put on her own beads. They were all beautiful when made. Plenty of extra beads are included, so there were no arguments over beads. Having said all those positive things, the end pieces are not very secure, and after chasing beads over the floor a few times, I got smarter. Once a child was finished, I carefully removed each end piece, applied a drop or two of superglue and put the end piece back on. I propped up each snowflake so the point being glued was vertical. The superglue ran down the spike and glued several of the end beads. Each child had a beautiful snowflake with secure beads. I also used blocks of clay to secure the snowflakes while all spikes were being assembled except the last. For the last spike, we sat the snowflakes in empty butter tubs to hold them upright.
