Very customizable, especially w/ Koreader, plays many ebook types, huge memory, very private
Outstanding! Good native program, but even more customizable with Koreader installed. I can easily increase the font size or weight with Koreader when my eyes get tired. I no longer have to convert everything to Mobi or Epub since it can read so many different types of ebooks. Saves me a lot of time. It's also very private- you don't have to be connected to an ebook seller to use it. Works offline. The 64GB memory is great - I can bring a huge library. Wish they still made the 64GB model. Good size and dimensions. Very lightweight. My favorite ereader by far. I now have 3 of them and got one for my brother, who liked it so much, he got one for his wife.

Excellent open format ebook reader with a few quirks
This Pocketbook ereader replaced my Kobo Aura One (which I truly loved). Pros - This has a better screen. Fast page turning The reading experience is very smooth and comfortable. The display is very sharp and easy to read. Lighting is very even. 64 GB is a crazy amount of storage. I never delete anything. I can operate it with one hand. I had to use both hands with the kobo. Buttons are very useful but I have a hard time remembering which is which when I flip it. The connection to calibre is more reliable than the kobo. I love usb-c on an ebook reader. Battery life is excellent; I get about a month. The cloud account works very well. I had to lie and say I bought it in Germany to get it to work. Cons- It is rather sensitive to orientation and often flips the display 90 degrees when it should not. The library browser is jerky and unpleasant to use. I used both readers for I while this winter, but found myself preferring the Pocketbook Era.

Nice product
The pocketbook era is a nice product. The software is a little slow, but the page turns are really fast. It seems like it take a couple seconds longer to start up or navigate the settings than other ereaders I have used. Under certain lighting conditions other reviewers have mentioned that on the side with the page turn buttons the screen is a little dimmer than the other side. I notice this occurs with the smartlight when I am using it in a dark room. Otherwise I don't notice it. And if I didn't know it was there I may not have noticed it at all. Other than that the screen is really sharp and the reading experience is excellent.

Delightful device.
I love this thing. The only issue is that the accelerometer is very very unreliable, but if you disable it, there is no problem. Classy, nice amount of weight in the hand, crisp resolution. My only regret is that I didn't get it sooner.

I LOVE my PocketBook Era!
I’m a new convert from the world of Kindles. I’ve been buying and using Kindle e-readers for almost 15 years and I’ve gotten slowly more and more disenchanted with the experience. When they discontinued the Oasis, I finally had to search elsewhere. I wanted something with good, unobtrusive, tactile physical buttons, a front light with adjustable warmth, and USB-C. Ideally, I also wanted something that would handle PDFs and epubs with more ease than my Kindles have in the past. This was the winner and I couldn’t be more satisfied! Battery life is great, it’s snappy and responsive, the size and weight are perfect, the construction feels premium, and it does everything I want it to. Setup was a breeze, and I was absolutely FLOORED that I didn’t have to make an account or anything! When was the last time you were able to use a new electronic device without having to set up some kind of stupid account?! I truly couldn’t be happier with my purchase and I’ve already recommended PocketBook to all of my Kindle-using friends who are looking to break free of Amazon’s chains as well.

Good hardware with terrible software
I bought this to replace my kindle, because I wanted a drm free reader that still had my favorite kindle feature, syncing between the app on my phone and the reader for all those times I have a little time to get some reading in and don’t have the reader with me. Pocketreader claims to have that feature, but it doesn’t actually work. Getting it to sync is an exercise in frustration. The software in general seems very buggy and slow. Can’t recommend it at this time.

Good quality e-reader
I needed an e-reader that could support the Ukrainian language, I found it. Moreover, the company was founded in Kyiv and this was very important for me. The reader is high-quality, compact, supports many formats and does not tire the eyes as much as others. Highly reccomending

Great e-reader!
I was looking for an e-reader without a touchscreen or with the option to disable it while reading, and it turned out that only PocketBook has such a feature. Switching pages using buttons is convenient, and there's the possibility to customize the key assignments.

Brilliant e-reader with text to speech compatible with Libby App UK (Used by many UK libraries). This e-reader is exactly what I was looking for and allows me to access the library books I borrow via the Libby app from my library in epub format and then listen to them using text to speech which I find much easier than reading due to disability. I borrow via Libby on phone or iPad first as they’re faster to navigate but then opening the epub of the book on pocketbook immediately allows access to all features including voice which has a number of voices available for text to speech and can be listened to by Bluetooth headphones or through the integrated speaker. It’s on a par, if not better than the kindle text to speech experience (easier to access and stop and start than voiceover). The user interface is slower than Apple products but similar to non- Apple devices I’ve tried and very similar to Kindle basic model speed. The screen is responsive and accurate. The buttons are good and responsive. There are lots of customisable options and the battery life, even when using text to speech, is impressive compared to basic kindle. It’s expensive (reason for 4 stars) but if you’re looking for text to speech for epub, Libby library books I couldn’t find anything better and would recommend. The listing says 65gb silver but I was sent 64gb copper model so I’m not sure if the listing is now for both or a random assignment but the sunset copper colour is lovely and the device seems well made overall.

Has "send a book via email directly to the reader" feature. Battery lasts super long if WI-FI is off. Fast enough for e-ink reader. Web Browser is slow and doesn't support tabs - but has enough functionality to google for a book/document and download it. I love PDF text reflow feature: if a PDF has OCR, then the reader can extract the text and lay it out as if it is a plain text document. So you don't have to zoom and scale to fit. For non OCR PDFs the experience is OK, but of course, not so seamless as with a regular screen. Has build-in dictionaries & thesaurus (offline!). Can even read a book aloud.

I bought an Era as a replacement for my Kobo Libra H2O about 4 months ago, and so far it's been a stellar device! First, the build quality - it's as good as you could imagine. I owned many ereaders before, including a Kindle Keyboard 3G, Onyx Boox С67ML and Kobo Libra, and Era feels head and shoulders above them all. There's no mushiness to the buttons, not even the tiniest wobble as you push them and hear the soft, rich "click" under your fingers. "Premium" is the first word that comes to mind when you use this reader. My second most important concern was the longevity - I mean, Kobo was no slouch with its 1,200 mah battery, but I wanted a month or longer between the recharges. And Pocketbook delivers, because the device has the ability to fully shut down after a designated interval of time, and then power up and let you continue where you left off, all within the span of 5 seconds or so. Even better is the fact that if you have KOReader installed, the Era will automatically launch it and open the last read page upon powering up. The screen is great, too - I checked it for glare by reading in multiple locations, including a park bench in the middle of a sunny day, and there haven't been any issues. The only con to me is the fact that the surface next to the buttons is glass, and when you rest your thumb on it, it will inevitably leave a fingerprint.
