Always wanted one of these. Works great

Very easy set up. Pretty self explanatory. Only downside is that the tongs are very strong and I accidentally dropped my crucible on my first attempt. Once you get the hang of it, it really does the job perfectly.

I bought this melting machine and look good but too small for my purposes but the seller is great and quick responding…. So 5 starts for him but I can’t rate the product since I won’t be available to used and I got refunded my money.

I will preface this with the fact that I have my doctorate in metallurgy, this is not my first melt.I was really excited to be able to do some casting at home, and have had good luck with the brand so far, so I thought I would give this a try.I preheated the crucible to 500 for 30 minutes, added some copper, brought it to 900, let it dwell for 30 minutes and then brought it up to 1100. Melting of the copper started and I wanted to ensure it was fully melted so I checked again about 15 minutes and noticed re-solidification. I turned off the heater and let it cool to about 500C and pulled the crucible out. Picture above showing the copper made its way down to the thermocouple and destroyed the ceramic base plate. True shame.

The forge is exactly like the Devil Forge I currently own. I can see no physical differences in the smelter itself. There is a difference in regulator gauge (this one is more robust) and the pipe into the smelter. Just like with Devil Forge, you need to buy refractory cement to seal the wool so that it works at its maximum and also prevents you from breathing in fibers. I'm very happy!

The media could not be loaded. AWESOMENESS, great for the cost. Gloves were holy before even putting on. Gloves 😂 didn't not last but one time even before wearing them. So for anyone out there wanting to get into this just note that the furnace is good. You should always buy your own PPE Personal Protection Equipment.

Well I was very sad that it said it would get to 2150deg F but it only got to 1050

East to set up if you know what you are doing.. my main concern is it didn't come with the plaster to coat the insulation or extra insulation to plug the burner hole. And the little mold the send is for like gold or something. What am I supposed to do with a 2 gram mold with a 10kg crucible???
