I've bought these for use at work as we have Dell mini PCs without USB-C ports. We use the adaptor to connect USB-C cable to the monitor to allow us to use the keyboard and mouse attached to the monitor rather than the computer. This is useful as some of the team use mini PC but others prefer to use their laptops. Which ever device they use, they just have to plug in one USB-C cable to the monitor without having to connect the keyboard and mouse. This has saved us having to buy expensive docks.The price is good for these and they are value for money. I’ve bought these a few times and would recommend them.

They work as expected

At first I thought these were all defective, or fakes. There's lots of fake USB 3.2 adapters kicking around - USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ones which are falsely labelled. I thought this was the case here: When I tested the items with a very fast USB4 NVMe external SSD, I was getting HORRIBLE transfer rates indicative of USB 2.0 speeds - see the first image. I tried different USB ports, different cables and different SSD's but always the same: around 42 MB/s reads and 35 MB/s writes. Yuck. I started a return process with Amazon.Then for some daft reason I tried flipping the USB cable over, turning the connector through 180 degrees and hey presto, now I get 1,034 MB/s reads and 984 MB/s writes. Just as it should be. Flipped it around again to be sure, and yes, back to USB 2.0 speeds. Changed it again and back to full 10 Gbps.So before you put these in the bin, you might want to try flipping the cable. It should NOT be like this, so I cannot give the items 5 stars. The USB-C standard is not supposed to be orientation dependent. But at least they do work.

Great quality and fit. It is really easy to use and is compatible with all USB A ports. Has versatile uses and is great value for money. It comes really fast too.

As others have said, you only get the fast speed transfers if you have the adapter orientation right. I use mine to transfer RAW files from a Cf express type B card reader to NX Studio. The first time I tried, the files uploaded at a snail's pace, so I paused the transfer and put the adapter on the other way round (180 degree turn). Files immediately started transferring very quickly and much faster than from my old SD card reader with USB 2.0 interface. Three in the pack for £5.99 seems like very good value to me. I have other Ugreen products (a USB audio interface, several USB cables) and they always do what's required.

These UGreen adapters are supposed to be USB 3.2 for fast data transfer. No matter what cable i connect to them & what port I connect into, cannot get more that USB 2 speeds.
