I dreamt of this as a little girl myself!
I bought this for my 5 yo granddaughter for Christmas. My son (her dad) came over and helped me put it together. Two heads and 4 hands made it easy, and fun! I had prepared the well-lit workspace with everything we might need, brought the dollhouse picture up on the laptop for referral, and we carefully began putting it together, taking our time. Having a couple of small tables to set the boxes and tools on nearby was helpful. All the pieces were there and in perfect condition. I had made notes from all the reviews (read them before starting!) and it went together fabulously. Then the fun began! I hung up little fairy lights at the top, and bought push-button puck lights for each room and even the 2nd story balcony (per one reviewer). They also suggested gluing the puck lights inside a mini cupcake wrapper which made it like a ceiling shade. I just happened to have pink and purple ones, lol. Now she can play in the evenings as well and it’s not dark inside the house. I added some bling to the bed and couch, as well as adding other extras (the sky’s the limit!) then decorated it for Christmas!!! My granddaughter did not expect this at all and was so excited. It’s a beautiful, huge dollhouse, well worth the cost.

Best dollhouse ever!
After much searching for a dollhouse that would not be easily destroyed (and my daughters year-long quest to convince "Santa" that a dollhouse with an elevator is crucial in her happiness), my husband and I decided this would be the dollhouse of the century. We were right, our 5 year old daughter absolutely loves her dollhouse! BTW, Mommy thinks it quite nice as well. Now be prepared,if you're assembling it by yourself, to get a bit of a workout. It's probably much easier to assemble with the help of someone else. It took me a few hours over two days to complete my project. I had to hide it after I put it together, so it's a bit hefty fully assembled. The directions were pretty straightforward; I really had no major issues other than the elevator track being in two parts instead of one. I called Kidkraft and they sent the part right away, apologizing for the inconvenience. Thank you Kidkraft for standing behind your product and for having such an excellent customer service department. Sadly, that is such a rarity nowadays....The dollhouse furniture is darling, my daughter is especially fond of the piano (which plays a snippet of music), lamp (which works as well...be aware that once you switch it on, it shuts off by itself) and the table/chair set. Batteries were included for the the piano, lamp and toilet. My 3 year old gets in on the fun as well. Who knew they had so many fashion dolls? There is more than enough room for two children to play in the various areas of the house...and don't forget that there are two, yes two, balconies! The 5 year old has even added additional furniture from her old Barbie fold-up vacation home. This is not a tiny dollhouse, it takes up a big space. But, if you are so inclined, you can mount it against a wall (hardware included) if you want it to stay in a specific location in your home.I think it is quite sturdy and durable and will be played with for a very long time. Also, based upon various friends/family comments comparing this one to the Barbie townhouse, we made the best purchase. I purchased it on Black Friday 2011 and got it for a very good price as well (yay me!). Many other sites had it listed at around $160, it was under $120 here. Thanks Amazon!

Durable and worth the money
The media could not be loaded. I got this for my daughter for Christmas coming up. Figured I would get it set up now so I can just put it next to the tree and when she wakes up she can play with it.Pros- its pretty big and sturdy, doesn't feel cheap and flimsy which will with stand her wrath. The piano, lamp and toilet all work. The screws are color coated so they kind of blend with the wall they are screwed into. They are also labeled in a package so they are separated and comes with spare screws which came in handy since I lost one lol also comes with Allen wrenchCons- the instructions are pictures only so it took me about 5 hours to put together. The handle for the elevator was also a little broke like its about to snap off but some glue will fix that. It also doesn't glide too easy, even i had trouble moving it. But that can be easily fixed with some wax or wd40. The piano legs could also be glued in since they just pop in kind of. The screws didn't all go in too easy either which is why it took so long, and some I had to leave a bit out because they wouldn't go in easy. And the instructions feel a bit out of order and made it hard to screw some stuff in place completely..Other than that I like it and hope my daughter will. She wanted a barbie dream house but this was cheaper and seems like it would be more stable and fun for her. We shall see 😁

Wonderful Dollhouse but Don't listen to other reviews about assembly time....
I ordered this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas, 2020. She is going to absolutely love it! She wanted Barbie dreamhouse but I've seen those fully assembled and they are flimsy and made of plastic, so I went with this doll house instead and it does not disappoint. Super sturdy, looks great and is VERY big!My only critique: I was reading reviews before I purchased and saw that a number of reviewers noted it took them about an hour or 90 minutes to assemble....well I'm here to let you know that is not even close. I will tell you, I am not a handy man by trade but I can do things around the house and have assembled many things in the past without too many problems. This assembly is a BEAST. I don't have an exact time but a fairly close estimate from start to finish is about 5 hours and 30 minutes in total, lol. There are LOTS of peices, I mean tons. The directions were fine, no complaints there, but there are so many screws and bolts and differnt peices you have to fit together. I would suggest if you are going to buy this ask someone else to assist when you are assembling as this would definitely be made easier with 2 people. All that said, I got it all together myself, it was a bit of a challenge and as mentioned just very time consuming...very glad I did not wait until Christmas Eve to start on this. Can't wait for my daughter to see it, really great product for a good price!!!!
