Good deal for a beginner set.
This clay set has a great variety of Fun colors and quite a few accessories. It’s a great deal for somebody just starting out; although Some of the clay is very hard. This is a fun set that should make some reasonably durable pieces.

Good set of clay for kids.
This oven bake clay is really awesome. We have it as like a rainy day activity or having friends over activity where we can all just sit down and create and then we just bake it and we're done. I think the only thing I had to do was make sure that my oven temp was accurate because it was not so the first batch didn't go as well. But after that it went fine and it came with everything we needed to get started. So now we know whether we want to invest more money in the future in this particular craft.

Great little starter kit
This little kit is a fantastic way to have a variety of different colors, while learning how to use and work with polymer clay. There's a few basic and simple tools to use, but, no rolling bar to flatten the clay, and since it is thicker materials, I feel one would have been very useful for a small kit like this. Also, a scraper for lifting clay off of a surface would have been nice. Polymer clay grips surfaces, and if you forget to prep a surface with a little cornstarch or using a flexible surface like silicone, it becomes very easy to get a creation stuck and ruin it trying to lift. Those 2 little tools would have made all the different with this set. This could be very useful to a pro polymer clay user, as the variety of color offers a huge array of options, but I feel it's definitely more suitable for a beginner or someone who does not use clay often, but occasionally has a project they need it for, like myself. Overall, I see room for improvement with this kit, but as is, it's still 5 stars for the variety and how good it would be as a gift for a child or teen who showed an interest in working with clay.

Good for getting started, but poor quality
I wrote my previous review (see below) before actually completing a clay project and baking it. It is certainly an impressive array of colors, tools, and accessories, and I still think it may be good for getting started, but unfortunately, I don't think you will like your results.I followed the directions for baking my pieces in the oven and they came out all bubbled, not smooth as they went in. Apparently there is a bit of air and/or moisture in the clay that causes the bubbles when heated. Two little sculptures I made had been sitting out for several days until I could get around to a set of plain discs that I needed for another project. I rolled out the clay and cut the discs like cookie dough, placed them on the foil-covered baking sheet with the two sculptures, and baked according to directions.I know the bubbles were not from overbaking, because they appeared near the beginning as I watched them bake. I know they aren't from underbaking (like, maybe you'd expect they would settle down later?) because the pieces are fully hardened and the oven was starting to fill with smoke by the time I pulled them out at the appointed time.Interestingly, the two sculptures looked fine on the top and sides, which were exposed to air for several days, but had bad bubbling and a rough surface on the bottom (which had not been exposed to air during that time) so my guess is that there is just too much moisture in the clay.If you have time to let your pieces dry - on all sides - for several days before baking them, then you may still enjoy making things with this set. However, I would recommend moving on to better quality clay pretty soon.Anyway, here is my original (pre-baking) review:There are SO MANY COLORS! I love this set primarily for that reason - it's a great starter kit with so many colors, every possible sculpting tool (although they are kind of small and cheaply made of plastic), even some jewelry findings to get you started. The clay is soft and pliable, easy to work with, and there are some ideas in the little pamphlet to get you started, with some rudimentary instructions. I'd recommend anyone starting out to go online and look for additional ideas and tutorials, but one thing is for sure: you'll have a lot of colors to work with!

AMAZING set to keep the kiddos (and adults!) busy for hours!
This set is FANTASTIC! It has so many colors and options available, the only limit is your imagination, really! I got this to play with my 10-year-old niece, and it kept us busy for hours. The clay packets are quite small, but some of the colors have 2-3 packets, so you can open a color and not worry about it drying out if you want to use it again at some future date. You will have another closed packet to open then. I like this better than a single large packet that would then dry out over time. The tools they provide are excellent; you can really do a lot of small detail work with them. The clay is pliable and easy to work with, but I noticed some colors required more warming up (between your fingers) than others. A few were a little sticky and harder to knead, but most were pretty good quality. And my niece loved the additional goodies, like the little bells and chains, which were a really nice touch. She used some of the string to make ornaments for her tree, and I made a fox and unicorn for her desk that she just loved (she loves little animal figurines). It made for a really nice activity together. As far as cooking them, I just followed the directions and they came out perfectly. I also didn't let them sit long before cooking; I did it right away. This might make a difference, seeing as though the clay would dry out over time otherwise. I believe these are meant to be finished in one day.All told, this is incredible value for your money, and you will get a ton of long-term use out of it! The colors make it so flexible and the sheer volume of little clay packets will keep your kids imagination going. We barely scratched the surface and already have some cute little critters that my niece will cherish for years. This is a great, great set.
