My blanket just arrived an hour ago and I LOVE IT!!It’s HUGE and so very warm and comfortable to lay under. It is loosely weaved and very breathable but still keeps you very warm even laying under a ceiling fan. This is exactly what I was looking for. Got the navy blue which is a fantastic color in person.I will be getting another one for sure!I previously got a Tartan Plaid Wool blanket that was 3 times the price and 10 times less in quality. This blanket is such a winner!

There is absolutely nothing better than a wool blanket. Even if you're sitting outdoors in a rainy mist, it keeps you warm. I'll admit that I have a slight obsession with wool blankets and this is one of the nicer ones I've found, especially at this price point.It features all the things you want in a quality wool blanket. The blanket is soft and not scratchy, straight out of the box and best of all it doesn't have that awful smell that most imported wool blankets have. It's much more user friendly with cleaning and maintenance. The edges have a nice, contrasting color stitching to keep it from fraying and it adds a nice touch of style to the blanket.The size of the blanket is perfect. I'm 6' tall and use this when I'm hanging out in the living room sitting on the couch watching a movie when it's a little chilly in the evening. I also take this out camping, although it's almost too nice for that. Perfect for sitting around the fire pit at night. The leather carrying strap also doubles as a nice cinch strap for storage during the summer.The blanket is lightweight compared to other wool blankets. I have another version from a company in India and that one is heavy enough that I call it my weighted blanket. But that also keeps a lot of people from gravitating towards it because of the weight. This wool blanket is soft and lightweight. My daughters love it.This is an easy recommendation and would also make a really nice gift. I always read the reviews before buying on Amazon and like you, I appreciate honest, thoughtful reviews that help me make an informed decision. I hope you find this review helpful!

This blanket is awesome! Softer and less scratchy than any wool blanket that I have used before, it was very comfortable on an overnight campout. Stitching appears solid and well-done, unlikely to fray around the edges. The size is perfect for wrapping up in it, and it is warm enough for moderately cold weather.Since my campout was in freezing temperatures and in a tarp shelter with condensation issues, I did use a poncho and liner as a top layer for extra warmth and waterproofing. However, the wool blanket was the only thing between me and my sleeping pad, and it kept me comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep. It could be slightly thicker for more warmth, but all in all I think the thickness is a good compromise for keeping weight and bulk down to a reasonable level. I will have to see how durable it is long-term after a few washes, and as I carry it around in my Jeep daily in case of emergency.The included "leather" straps look fairly sturdy, though I have not used them so far. As on the blanket, stitching is generous. The hardware also seems strong and up to the task. For those who want to carry the blanket as a bedroll on a pack, the straps provide that option without the need to purchase anything else. I’m unlikely to use it in that way, but appreciate that I can at any time if I change my mind.

I feel like this listing is a bit decieving. This is advertised as a machine washable military blanket for outdoor use such as... backpacking, jungle expeditions, fishing, etc. However, it came with giant instructions plastered to the side of it describing how it can not be used in a top loader, and the preferred method is washing by hand. It also goes on to say that it will shed the first several washes, and needs to be line dried.If I had known this blanket was so delcate, I would not have purchased it. Most special care items I own tend to get ruined in the wash or simply not used. That's my initial thoughts before actually using this product and thought it was worth mentioning. Besides the washing part, the blanket seems nice enough and comes with some removeable straps to keep it folded and carry it. I can't recommend this unless you don't mind the special care instructions.
