Great utility knife
I have two of these knives. One is a backup just in case I misplace my usual one. This is a fantastic utility knife. I carry it every day in my pants pocket. I use it for cutting non-food items (I also carry a folding steak knife). It has a very thick blade, but not too heavy. The long cutting edge is nice for most tasks and easy to sharpen. The micarta scale is much more durable than I expected. No downsides. This is a utility knife and not a combat blade. It doesn't have a drop point so common in most knives, but that's not necessary for a utility knife. It looks very menacing to most people (like a straight razor), but it is definitely not a fighting knife.

My EDC, great quality
Great value, sturdy, stays sharp, and simply a knife you can trust to get the everyday jobs done and still defend yourself with.

Nice knife
Like the larger blade compliments my smaller buck. The belt/pocket clip needed to be eased a bit bit the clip keeps the knife secure. The blade lock can make closing the blade difficult if the hinge is stressed. Overall satisfied with the knife. Keep in mind it's not a BUCK but it's decent.

One-handed opening for lefties!
I got this knife because I liked the unique cleaver design. I had seen that others said it is not a one-handed opener, and that is correct when opening it right handed. The reason is that the fingers on the right hand squeeze the frame lock, pinching the blade and preventing one-handed opening with the right thumb. However, I'm a lefty and ironically, one-handed opening with the left hand is pretty easy because the frame lock is against my palm so doesn't pinch the blade. It's about time we lefties caught a break! The one problem is that the pocket clip is not reversible as seen on higher-end knives, so the removal from my pocket and getting ready to open is a little clunky. Also, the pocket clip is way tight so I had to bend it out a tad so I could actually get it over the pocket.Something else to know - this is a huge knife. Definitely not a dress pants type knife, but it is solid with no side to side blade wobble when open. It comes razor sharp out of the box too. Overall, I'm really happy with the Flatiron.

Good work knife
I really like the style and use of this knife. Good for everyday work around yards greenhouse or carpentry. Nice razor sharp edge coming out of the box. Love the tip of the blade for more detail work but must be careful not to snap or bend. Unfortunately I misplaced it and will'll have to buy another one. Lol

Gerber has an excellent reputation for producing quality blades at an affordable price they hit the mark very accurately with this knife I was looking for a blade to add to my collection that stands out this blade is simple and design easy to use rather sturdy razor sharp would definitely make a good everyday carry

My favorite pocket knife
I always have a pocket knife with me. This one is great! Love the design. I'm going on 5 years now with this knife. Action is still smooth and tight, having a thick blade not worried about chipping or breaking the tip. The spine is 1/8th inch plus thick so can take a beating. I use it multiple times per day and never worry about breaking it, I use it for sheet rock, opening paint cans, opening beer bottles, score lines on wood, braking down boxes, and everything else you can think of.

C'mon Gerber, you've got to do better!
I have been waiting months for this blade to be released. So you can imagine how quick I smashed the one click buy button when this popped up for sale! At last, the affordable cleaver style folder that my collection so deserved. One that didn't cost almost 200 bucks, yet wasn't total trash. Gerber for the big W, and chance to save the day!Well, I finally got it a week ago or so and couldn't have been further let down! I'll bullet point my issues, and leave a review under them if you care to read it. This isn't a paid review either. I bought this out of my pocket, and because I'm a knife guy.• Knife was unsecured in package. The cheap plastic zip-tie used to secure the bladeto the main cardboard packaging was broken. You know the type (cheap, brittle plastic zip ties you get in the value section of a value tool store). No big deal, it was still held on by the pocket clip. It was more the point. It looked tacky, but that's okay. I know it doesn't have any affect on the blade. The Package was perfect, as most Amazons packages are.•The handle was smudged dirty! By one of the screw locations. I haven't tried cleaning yet, and I'm not sure if it was smudged with grease from the pivot during assembly. You can see in the picture if you zoom in. I'll see if I can attach additional images - currently can't figure it out, lol.•The blade was really dull, would not cut hair off arm. You read that correctly, it wouldn't cut hair off my arm. I don't say shave, because it wouldn't do that either. However, if you know how to also cut hair with a single blade, it wouldn't do that either.REVIEW:The blade feels really well balanced in your hand while opened up. The finger relief under the blade really gets the working edge close. It is very controllable and steady.Closed, the blade is bulky. Seems the blade could easily sink another 1/4" into the handle to make its profile smaller. But, I'm not a designer. The pocket clip is very tight. I like it. I've read other reviews that have dinged them on this. It's much easier to open it up a bit, rather than taking it off trying to close the gap in a loose pocket clip.Once I put an edge on the blade, its held it pretty well over the last week. I haven't used it much, opened a few boxes and showed it off more so than anything.People really like the blade, it's a conversation starter! Know what you're buying, and you'll enjoy this option. I just really wish Gerber didn't rush this to market. I saw this blade in the SHOT show blogs, and got really amped about it. That was a few months ago. The way it arrived was like they rushed the guys to get it done. Quality was sacrificed in order to meet the shipping deadlines. That's sad. We're all hardworking people who deserve a quality blade and a value price. That's why you buy Gerber. This is the first Gerber I've purchased in many years because I like a little higher build quality. I bought this because I didn't want to spend the money on a new blade design that I might not like. I can't say I'll ever be purchasing from Gerber again. Not because they don't fill a need in the market and do provide great value in knives, it's because of the poor and assumiungly Chinese production origins they shipped me.I left 3 stars because the knife isn't trash! The attention to detail and production standards were!

Parafuso Espana fácil
Frustrado!
