Trash machine and bad seller
Warning! This is total trash. I've been threading pipes for years and always had a Ridgid for my portable machine but it was stolen. I bought this Vevor machine with high hopes. Big mistake! This garbage ruined three 1 1/2 pipes I was threading. The pipe threader is only as good as the cutting dies. The die simply broke teeth and destroyed the pipe end making them now too short to place in position if cut and rethreaded. See photos! I tried to return this but was totally screwed by the seller and Amazon! First the seller will not accept it without an RMA and buyer must pay shipping. I sent it back costing me 50+$. They received it and never returned my money. I contacted Amazon and they said the return was approved so I waited and waited for my money. NO MONEY! Seller never answers the phone or returns emails. 300$ + 50+ shipping simply gone. After doing research Vevor is not a tool company but a Chinese distributor who dumps Chinese trash on the USA market and the amazon sellers are a laptop in some bedroom. Beware of this Temu type trash that Amazon is complicit with distributing to us the buyer. This is a big red flag for Amazon now. If the item you are buying doesn't say "ships from Amazon" Don't buy it. It could be from anywhere. If it doesn't ship from Amazon, go to a credible source who has it in stock. I waited 3 weeks for this pipe trash and now I understand it came from China! Amazon and the so called "Vevor Store" simply screwed me for all my money. I am making a report for "Consumer Reports". Also keep in mind Amazon uses AI for customer interface. I could never get to a human even on Amazon chat!

Works ok, just have to know what you’re doing
I used this on 1-1/4” black iron pipe so far. Will be trying the 2” soon. It cut the threads with relative ease. Just have to remember just like a hand cutter you need to reverse to break the chips ever so many turns.Only complaints are;The teeth didn’t last very long. Still cuts but I do have a few that broke, could have been user error. The detent ring does not like to allow the die to seat. Have to make sure the “open” ends are on the gravity side (bottom) so that they 1. Don’t come out and 2. Don’t get caught when trying to put the die in.

amazing
Does it's job, already payed itself off did over 50 threads and it's still going strong.Couldn't be happier, dewalt and milwaukee are 10 times more expensive and this does the job just fine

Great value for top quality product.
Husband was thrilled. Already used to move gas stove in friend's house. Heavy duty and tool attached holds pipe in secure position for perfect threading.Highly recommend!

Amazon is not making this easy
First time I used it on black iron for gas pipe and the head broke so I'm trying to buy a new head for the ½" cutter die. Help!

Sturdily constructed but I have issues
This kit comes nicely packaged in a decent molded plastic case. Everything seems very robust and heavy. The machine produces very low RPM, very high torque; it also generates high dB, so I wear hearing protection when using it.The instruction manual is absurdly lacking:PAGE 4 - "It should be injected with grease gun proper grease into the hole within thirty days"...... I assume it's the port covered by a plastic cap. Behind the cap may be a grease fitting. It's not the Zerk type fitting that I am accustomed to. I am trying to find out from Vevor - "what type of grease" and also "what grease gun fitting do I need to buy for my gun".PAGE 11 - Exploded schematic drawing with parts call-out 1, 2, 3...... but where is the legend table that identifies the part name and number?TIP 1: I had a problem with the 3/4" die wanting to push out of the socket as it came into contact with the pipe. I'm threading standard USA 3/4" black pipe. I discovered that if I grind off a hair of the metal around the pipe, the machine threads like a charm. Fittings thread up fine.TIP 2: Use a mini wire brush between cuttings to remove steel shavings from the die. This prevents them from being drawn into the cutting teeth and distorting the next cut.
