The Best Level 2 EV charger--Perfect works Tesla and Chevrolet Volt
This charger works as intended. It does exactly what it is advertised to do and the packaging was really nice. When I first purchased my EV I didn't want to install a charger and think the included charging would fit for me. My commute is not very long, typically under 30 miles. I plugged my charger into my garage outlet which was a dedicated 20Amp circuit. It worked well without blowing the fuse. However, the 110 charger is slow (typically providing about 4-5 miles of charge per hour), and it took nearly 2 days to charge the car to 80%. So I decided I needed something a little bit faster went with the Ecogniex level 2 ev charger.I did a lot of research before choosing the Ecogniex ev charger features, warranty and price were all considered. I installed a 40Amp breaker and the plug is NEMA 14-50 which supports to 32A charging You really don't need to go with the hard wired 48Amp / 40 Amp charging circuit, because the 32 Amp can charge just about any vehicle from 5% to 80% in about 6 to 8 hours depending on battery size. And 32A portable charger is good for car battery and easy to carry. If you don't have enough service, then go with a 30 Amp breaker (ecogenix does a great job, you can adjust 8, 10, 13, 16, 20, 24, 32A,), which will still charge the vehicle overnight at about 3.84 -5.8 kW per hour. And it is easy to set up and use. And the timing function of ecogenix is also very helpful. I will arrange the charging time to avoid peak periods. The voltage is stable and I can save some money every time. I set it up to charge at 9PM, which is off peak. I can plug in the car anytime and it will wait till 9PM. BTW, you should not regularly charge to full capacity as this can damage the battery life. Charging to 100% is only recommended when planning a long trip. Similarly, you should not let the battery drop below 10% before charging. The 25-ft cable length is very practical and makes it highly portable. The cable material seems look very sturdy. And its screen display is also very clear, you can effortlessly see the charging status and indicators. Furthermore, it has complete certification. I never worry about safety issues. Its adaptability is excellent. The adaptability is solid, and the design is impressive. I drive a Tesla, and with the adapter installed, it works seamlessly. When I removed the J1772 to Tesla adapter, my neighbor was able to use it for his 2017 Chevrolet Volt (using the J1772 port) without any problems. After giving it a try, he's now eager to get one for himself too.Very satisfied with this ev charger so far, and I will keep updating if there is any new experience.

Charges quickly for a level 1 charger
I just got my first EV last month, and bought this as I waited to get a level 2 charger installed. It actually charged much faster than I expected, and for my needs I found I don't really need to invest in a level 2 charger. I live 7.5 miles out of town, and can usually recharge a days driving around town in a few hours, if I drive further an overnight charge will usually fully charge. I have a 150 mile per charge car, so it may take longer for a larger battery, but I have never had an issue. I was told to expect 2 miles an hour but find I get closer to 4.5 with my car, a Nissan Leaf SV, which is one of the smaller batteries for an EV. I may still invest in a level 2 charger since my state will pay for it, and the federal government is offering $1000 towards installation for rural people. But, this has so far been enough. It is lightweight, easy to install anywhere you may need to use it, as long as you have access to any normal 120v outlet. It fits nicely in its bag, and stores easily in the trunk, taking very little space. Ive used it for over a month and found it's durable in all weather, though I think in the sun the cord gets hot, as when I laid it across grass once the grass under had turned yellow in the few hours I had charged. I don't know if it's because it's black and heats from the sun, or if the actual current heats the cord, or both. At a time when it wasn't sunny I touched the cord and it didn't feel hot to the touch, but when it's in direct summer sunlight that is something to be aware of. Make sure it's not directly on grass or something flammable. Otherwise, I have found it's more efficient than I expected, and I'm happy with my choice. There are dozens available, I chose this one because it said it was faster and more efficient and that has so far been the case.

Very easy to use Level1/Level 2 EV Charger
I purchased this EV charger with some concern about its current draw at 120volts. There are absolutely no external controls on the device. The manual says to set the current level and charging schedule before using it, but doesn't say how to do that. Having said that, there are no other drawbacks at all. The charger didn't blow any circuit breakers and provided around 1.7 kW of power, as reported by my car. Actual charging time seemed a bit less than the car expected, but not wildly different. I have done two charging sessions so far with absolutely no issues. The cables and control box do get warm, but not hot, and the indicator lights on the box worked exactly as expected. So far this is a very good product and works as advertised. Recommended.Someone asked about the wire gage. The charging cable is labeled 3X14Ga and 1X18Ga, 600V, 150C. These seem very appropriate for this charger. Still works great!!

Fast charge! 4 hrs
I have a new Jeep 4XE and wanted a tier 2 charger since I already had a 220v outlet in my garage. Normal charge with the manufacturers charger for a standard outlet can take "12 hrs" more like 14. With this baby I get a full charge in 4 hrs. Supposedly it's supposed to charge in 2 if you have a tier 2, but I am just happy I can do it so much faster now. It comes with a case and a few assessor's to hang it on the wall. I plan to do that and like that it won't be thrown about my garage all willy nilly.
