Brilliant little gadget
I got this Edimax Wireless Extender today and it works a treat, its a doddle to setup and within 10 minutes it was up and running, I have an Apple Airport Extreme base station, but found that the downstairs bedroom was a bit of a wireless black spot for my Xbox 360 & Samsung Smart TV, But since installing this Extender in the room both my tv and Xbox receive a full strong signal that doesn't even fluctuate.I would recommend it without hesitation, £40+ well spent.

Easy to install and works well.
Neat piece of gear which does what it says on the box and was straightforward to install. Only qualification is that the install instructions could have been made clearer for the non-geek.

Buy for range not performance
It works very well as a range extender, having said that it sucks at wifi performance. In a room where I get about 110 Mb/s using my cable router, Edimax only provides ~25 Mb/s whilst being in the same room as the laptop, this is very poor and a reason why it is not fit for what I required it to do.As aforementioned it works ok as an extender and as such I will keep it to have internet access in the garden as 25 is better nothing :)A thing to note is that all walls in my house are made of solid brick, thus it may work better in your particular set up.

Below par for Edimax
Expected Mbps ratings on these devices are misleading.I have always liked Edimax products & keen pricing but this is a poor performer compared with other units from them. My current Edimax unit on 2.4GHz always runs at 148Mbps, as it should since it is a 150n lite device at this frequency. At best, this unit on 2.4Ghz transmits at 54Mbps & the 5Ghz at near 150Mbps, so how they come to a concurrent speed of 300Mbps + I have no idea, maybe the ''+" should be replaced with a minus!Replaced with N600 Belkin dual range extender & at least I am now obtaining the same data transfer rates as my Netgear N600 router outputs (148Mps on 2.4Ghz & 263Mbps at 5Ghz, near end of range)

Dead easy to install!
I read the reviews on this, and most said it was difficult to install. I was desperate to improve our failing BT FIBRE OPTIC signal, but did not want to pay the £70 for a BT version.I am technophobic, and I installed it within 5 minutes so please don't be put off! We have an excellent signal now! I can't believe it. I keep disconnecting and reconnecting just to prove it works! Great little item, does exactly what it says on the box!

Failed After 45 days
This item failed after 45 days - unfortunately outside of Amazon's return policy. It was as easy to set-up as the single band version but was temperamental when I placed in room with dead-spot. It didn't immediately light up - I had to try several times to get it to work. Note this plug socket was used for the single band version for 45 plus days until I replaced with this more expensive version.ADVICE - if device doesn't switch on immediately when placing for use then return to Amazon as this fault will probably get worse and Amazon are easier to deal with !After a weekend away I switched it back on again and it simply would not switch on.I have had to return to EdiMax paying over £4 for the return - and now of course have no device until I (hopefully) get a replacement.

Edimax EW-7238RPD N300+ Dual Band Concurrent...
I have had the device for 6 months now, it seems pretty stable, reasonably easy to set up. I have only lost a connection on a couple of occasions.when I have had need to go through the set up process again, to gain a Wi-Fi remote connection.

Could be better
Would have deserved 5 stars but it wasn't as straight-forward to set up as described (and I've set up loads of these extenders now). It failed to install using WPS so I had to do it manually and I also had to configure the 5ghz connection to use a static IP. There were no advanced settings so I couldn't get it to clone my router which is what I was expecting and hoping - even after naming it the same with the same password it is still identified as a new connection and you have to enter the password on your device again. Of course, once done your device should auto-switch but only as long as the router isn't still in range (if you're in the overlap area).Otherwise the range and so far, the stability and connection speed and quality all seem to be up to the job. In my experience, if you want a super quick option at a decent price, go for the TPLINK model as the WPS just clones on both channels at the click of a button - you're ready in about a minute.
