These classes only work when you look directly at the sun. They don’t strain your eyes at all when you’re looking at the sun but when you turn away from the sun everything is pitch dark. I highly recommend these glasses as they seem to do a great job protecting your eyes while directly looking at the sun.

I would like to take the time to thank you for completely ripping me off. These glasses are so dark, you can't even see the sun through them. I know the difference because I went to the gas station and got some of the paper ones and I can see the sun just fine. It looks like an orange ball. However, these show absolutely no visibility at all. You can't see anything. They are completely dark. So, enjoy my money I guess.

I can't complain about the product and they are effective and sturdy. They are comfortable as well. I didn't give 5 stars only because I ordered the 6 pack of black because I already got t-shirts and other items that will match our "picnic party BBQ" theme, and I only got two with black frames, two are orange frames and two are green frames. I really wanted all black and I made sure that I ordered all black, but I don't want to deal with the return and wait for the replacement time and effort. But they are what they say they are and I would definitely recommend them above the cardboard type.

I ordered a 6 pack of the glasses and was happy because they were delivered very quickly the same day. When I tried on the glasses they were all extremely dark, so dark that I couldn’t see a lightbulb, or my hand in front of my face..I mean utter complete dense darkness. I even went outside, and looked at the sky and there still was complete dense darkness and so I figured that the glasses didn’t work and that I’d return them. Since it was a somewhat cloudy day I figured that I’d wait a couple of days for a bright sunny day to give them another shot before mailing in the return. Thank goodness I waited! This morning I want outside and tested the glasses again and to my amazement they worked! So, as a word of caution to all first time sun watchers like me, the glasses are extremely dark and it has to be clear direct sunshine in order to properly see if the glasses work or not, they cannot be tested inside with a bright light bulb or any other type of artificial light. Also, I checked the AAS (American Astronomical Society) website and this manufacturers is on their safe suppliers list). The glasses are a great buy and I’m so happy that I kept them!

Some of the other reviews left me nervous after clicking order. When these glasses came in, I had none of the reported issues.All 6 frames were black, not multicolored. Each pair worked great and provided a clear view of the sun. They are much sturdier than paper glasses. They fit around my normal glasses comfortably.I took the attached photo of the sun by holding my phone's (S22U) camera against the lens of these glasses and was very impressed with the results. By camera phone standards, I'd say that's a very crisp image!

Seems a little cheaply made. But, overall good product.

I just got these yesterday (Feb. 26) and tested them today at noon, outside, looking at the sun in a cloudless sky. No hint of the sun is visible though these glasses. They are completely opaque and block all sunlight. If you have ordered these glasses and haven't tested them yet, don't wait until April 8 to find out they don't work! I am returning them for refund immediately.
