Evie and the Magic Telescope

A delightful story about a delightful girl. Phil Rosenberg has written a wonderful book about how youngsters grow spiritually through love of family and friends and find their passions through exploration of the world around them. Rosenberg uses his own love of astronomy as the focal point around which young Evie discovers a world (a universe, really) so far way, yet made to seem so close though the magic of modern technology . In the process, Evie discovers much about herself and the world she lives in. This is an excellent first "chapter" book for second graders yet is challenging enough for third-through sixth graders as well. While it's a fun read, the heartfelt story imparts vital life lessons that we all want our children to learn.
