Does what it was meant to... covers an unused hole on door.
While installing my new deadbolt, I realized my old front door handle was installed too close to the deadbolt hole. Unfortunately, my old front door handle is one of those units that attaches at two points to the front door... one to the handle hole and a smaller hole at the bottom of the handle to secure the handle to the door.This item was used to cover up the lower, smaller hole. I think the primary purpose of this item is to cover up the bigger, 2" hole. But it works well with covering up the smaller hole as well. My only complaint was the divots that go into the door on both sides requires me to drill out a bit more room on both sides of my door. You will not have this issue if you are using this item to cover up any hole larger than 3/8". But since the hole I'm securing is the mount hole, which was about 1/4", I had to slightly drill the opening on both sides of the door to make room for the divots.As I've just installed this, I don't know how well it will hold up to weather. But as far as the color and finish, it matches the satin nickel of my new deadbolt and door handle well. Will update if there are issues.In case this matters to anyone. Vertical line patterns are visible on this item at certain angles to light. Not a big deal to me. But if you're trying to match the aesthetics perfectly to the other door hardware, this may matter to you.

Covers dead bolt cut out perfectly
We installed a new keypad entry doorknob and the deadbolt was in the way of the electronic box of the new knob. This covers the hole in the door from the deadbolt being removed and matches our new doorknob perfectly. Easy to install.

Great and easy cover
Bought to cover a previous door lock hole. Works good just need a screw driver and that's it!

I had a door taken down because it interfered with the existing door handle and this what went in its place.
