Strong, but a bit heavy
It is heavy duty and is a little heavy. I'm sure it will withstand the elements better than the lightweight tarp poles I have for hiking.

Good quality for the money.
I'd give this product 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that they will allow water to seep into them if you use them in the rain. The water doesn't affect the operation of the poles at all; it's just annoying to have water shooting out of them when you collapse them for storage. Other than that, they are durable and stay in whatever position your adjust them to. Also, you have to be careful not to lose the removable rubber tips when using the poles to secure tarps with grommets. I like the fact that these poles have a steel spike to fit into grommets. This feature makes them versatile.

Wish I knew sooner.
Had DOD tarp poles for traveling (smaller) -but these are fantastic camping poles! Gonna buy another set of four!!!
