Good for beginners and those who are learning/ wants to learn art seriously
It’s pretty good. Teaches you perspective and shading gave it to my cousin since I already learned all this stuff. Nonetheless it’s very useful and easy to understand for beginners

Best book for beginners who wish to create real-to-life drawings
I have a shelf full of drawing books, and many say they are for beginners—this book actually is. It truly offers step-by-step instructions with plenty of examples and explanations for learning how to create real-to-life drawings. One feature I like most is the focus on basic techniques such as shading, constructing basic shapes, and creating 3D shapes. All books discuss these key principles, but How to Draw and Think Like a True Artist gives extensive examples and practice exercises that are lacking in every other beginner drawing book I own. The 30-day format is a good way of organizing the material to be learned, but it improves on other books by making the drawing examples progressively more difficult—going from simple shapes to portraits. Here again, How to Draw and Think Like a True Artist is a major improvement over other beginner books I own because the how-to examples extend over multiple pages with detailed steps, not just a few skeleton sketches and then the final polished product. The author has put a lot of thought into creating the examples and explaining the techniques used for creating the final realistic drawing. Out of the 29 drawing books I’ve bought, these are the books I have found to be most helpful so far: For basic instruction1. How to Draw and Think Like a True Artist— Gives a daily routine that goes from simple to complex. This has been the best book to get me drawing daily and making steady progress. I spend more than one day on each lesson, though. For practice1. Draw Like an Artist: 100 Flowers and Plants —has plenty of practice drawings to try.2. The Artist’s Complete Book of Drawing Projects, Step-by-Step—steps are not nearly as detailed as they are in How to Draw and Think Like a True Artist, but the projects are decent. The projects in this book are best attempted after finishing the 30 days of How to Draw and Think Like a True Artist.

A left brained person like me.
This book is a nice beginner course in shading and drawing. It breaks down a piece into sequential pieces that can be followed by anybody with patience. There book is Joy of a workbook and each step is extremely well thought out (I don’t use this adjective lightly).Great purchase and great effort from the author to make art accessible to everyone, especially those who make a living using their left brain.I have used this book for three weeks now. The results are definitely significant.I have added three pictures to show the progression.

Helps to understand the basics
This Book will help you to build the drawing skill slowly with no stress and you will be surprised than you can manage pretty difficult projects after you complete the course. I took my time and did one- two projects a week, enjoying the process and working on all the details. Dear Author, Thank you very much for writing the great book for us!!!! Please keep writing! I would be happy if you have another book for watercolor or oil painting or anything else you decided on!
