Out of the Blue

In the weirdest of weird ways, this limited picture disc is also the least expensive vinyl version you'll find. My copy sounds great, and, while back in the day you would never play a picture since they had crackly sound and were extremely expensive collector's items, play this one if you want- heck, it's the price of a single LP and sounds fine. If you are looking for this one on vinyl, grab it to collect and display, or at this price, go ahead and play it once in a while. Great album, great value.

Great sounding record is 5 Stars and the Gracie’s in the vinyl are excellent. I give 4 stars for the cover plastic, it could be better.

ELO Out of The Blue picture disc 40th anniversary recording is fun to have in my collection. The disc's played well and sounded decent for a picture disc. I am happy with my purchase.

This picture vinyl album did not come in a true gatefold cover, it’s in a sticky plastic clear dual sleeve. Keep in mind, although some picture vinyls like this one do play with limited and/or zero problems… some don’t. Some are meant only to be displayed or kept as a “collector” vinyl for framed “show and tell”. It’s vintage ELO, yes, but the sound of mine is not of the earlier master copies from the 70s. It’s become a display conversation piece. I’m cool with it. Thanks.

I purchased this not knowing it was a set of Picture disc. While the pictures are great, any one who collects vinyl knows that picture disc do not sound as good as vinyl , they also seems to get damaged easier. This was delivered in a gatefold plastic sleeve, no inner sleeves at all. The Music of ELO is tremendous , I have enjoyed their music since the late 70's. keeping this in mind a release of this nature doesn't diminish the talent of ELO. I am going to place the disc in quality inner sleeves just like I do with any Vinyl Lp, and I have purchased quality outer sleeves to store them properly. I do not intend to play these disc, they are more for looking at than playing, I will purchase an actual set of Vinyl to listen too. I give 4 stars because the quality of the protection is under par. the music however is just a great as any one of Electric Light Orchestra's products.

GREAT LOOKING LP == VERY COLORFUL == SOUNDS GREAT

I have been waiting 6 months for this to be delivered, it came today and I couldn’t be more disappointed, there isn’t an album sleeve, there is however a plastic see through double album sleeve cover,with a thin slip of cheap paper in the middle with track listing on, the edge of the plastic sleeve cover is split open from the disc rubbing against it, I’m lost for words as to how I feel robbed

This is an iconic album from the wonderful ELO and I was looking forward to playing it. I have got the original album and CD in the fantastic box set of classic albums but I recently bought the picture disc of the 2017 remix of Sgt. Pepper and this suffers the same fate. The horrible sound of rumbling between the tracks whilst listening on cans is very disconcerting. I thought it may be my stylus, but if I play any other old vinyl in my collection, there is no problem.I just wonder if the current vinyl is pressed differently to the old vinyl. Anyway, nice to look at but I will stick to CD or original pressingsHI

I understand some people being disappointed by the polythene sleeve but most picture discs do for some reason come like this, probably to show off the discs themselves, manufacturing of picture discs is totally different to the normal process used for black vinyl. It has been commonly known that the sound quality is inferior to the black vinyl versions, they just look pretty cool when they are being played on your turntable!! If what your after is the best sound quality then go for the black vinyl version, if you want to play, frame or show off this superb album to your friends then this is the one for you.My album arrived in excellent condition from Amazon, well packed with no tares or bending in the polythene itself, I don't expect the best sound quality and the fact that it also comes with the MP3 download at no extra cost makes up for this massively!!!!Very happy with my purchase!!!!!!!!

This was bought as a Christmas present, so I was hoping that it would exceed expectations...and I'm happy to say it did. Since rebuilding our record collection we have, where possible, bought coloured vinyls. The art work on these records is amazing and a real talking point. OK, the plastic cover isn't exactly the best, but who cares! Just check out those beautiful double sided records! I had some reservations, as a couple of reviews talked about poor sound quality. I must be lucky (or not an overt record snob), but the sound quality in my opinion was brilliant...spot on! So, all in all me and my partner (who it was bought for) have enjoyed listening to this a couple of times now since Christmas Day and have enjoyed it greatly. Excellent songs coupled with stunning artwork on the vinyls. Happy days!

Bought this as a gift for my brother, he bought the album first time round & sadly sold his vinyl collection a few years back. He was over moon with receiving this in his own words 'you forget that feeling of opening an album for the first time & appreciating the artwork'. No idea of sound quality but i dont think you're supposed to play picture vinyls.
