Tastes like chocolate pudding!All I've heard from the running community about gels is that they're so disgusting and you just have to choke them down. I'm training for a marathon right now and since there will be GU gels available at the race, figured I needed to incorporate them into my long runs. Went with the chocolate flavor because it was on sale (I'm more of a fruity girl so this was a risk). Well I tried these today during my 17 mile long run and all I could say was WOOOOW! This was like having dessert on my run! It was a sweet, silky, delicious chocolate pudding in a compact, easy to carry tube. If anything it tasted too good, I just wanted more immediately!I didn't necessarily feel any kick of energy, but my muscles kept working and I didn't hit a wall. That's all you can ask for, I think. I took a total of 2 gels and ate a banana. Great combo!They didn't hurt my stomach at all. I have a stronger than average stomach I'd say, so probably don't take my word for it unless you're the same.Overall, I highly recommend!

This GU flavor is quite tasty. I also like the quick energy boost it gives me while riding my mountain bike. I typically do 2-3 hour rides and will take 1 or 2 of these throughout the ride to give me a quick pick-me-up and they work well. This one is my favorite flavor.

DELIVERY:Product was delivered fast/on time.OPENING, INSTRUCTIONS, USE:Box had 8 units, as advertised, and came with use guidelines on packaging. Went on 18mi run and ingested a unit roughly every hour. The unit is lightweight and easily opened by tearing the top off at the little pre-made cut in the foil material of unit. The substance in the unit is a bit like a paste in thickness, squeezes out of the pouch easily, tastes good (kind of like a chocolate pudding cup) and clears the mouth well without water. Felt physically boosted throughout the run.

Just completed 21k Spartan and these were just what I needed. Yummy taste and gives you that extra energy especially when I needed it

I am a distance cyclist and the Gu Gels provide a tasty energy boost that is absorbed quickly and turned into necessary energy when I am lagging. I am always surprised at how well these work and the fact that they taste so good. They are a great quick pick-me-up.

Love the blend that’s in this. The taste reminds me of brownie batter. Use it when I’m doing 4+ miles and it’s the perfect shot of carbs and other vitamins that give me the boost to get me back.

Overall the product does what it needs to do which is give energy when you're out for long runs or workouts. So I give it 4 stars because it does what it needs to do but for the taste, good grief does it feel overly sweet. So, if you’re sensitive to sugar think twice about these.

Love this brand. Use it while I'm mountain biking and helps me through the ride.
