Working great! No more squeaky noise!

I have an electric 7.4-cu ft. Whirlpool front load dryer. It was making a scratching noise and smelled like something was burning. I removed the back cover. It didn’t take long to see the culprit. My belt wasn’t damaged so I only ordered this part. I received the part the next day. It was easy to install and the dryer runs quietly smooth. I saved hundreds of dollars installing it myself.

My factory original part failed in Feb '21 and I replaced it with this part, from this seller. The replacement is a simple part that worked just fine for a year and a half but then corrosion caused the wheel to stop spinning and lock up so I'm now on my 3rd idler wheel. It would be great if someone built a version of this with a sealed bearing but until that happens I'll just set my expectations accordingly, knowing #3 will probably fail in Spring '24.

The pulley wheel itself was the perfect fit for a Maytag Quiet Series 100 that we’ve been having for ages. The bracket wasn’t the correct orientation for the one we had but that’s alright, overall 10/10 still happy thank you.

My dryer started to smell like burning rubber or plastic and then making a howling sound. It would only happen at the beginning of a cycle and then stop. The sound was getting louder and louder, so a quick Google search turned up several possible causes, the main one being the idler pulley bearing. Turns out, that was the problem and this part fixed it for $10! All of the other parts in the 7 year old dryer including the belt and support pulleys were fine, so I'm a happy camper! My main concern is longevity. I'll post back if it fails.
