I was able to put this together with a little effort. Having a lot of practice in putting together mail-order furniture, I am used to the process. The material is sub-par, but looks decent enough without close inspection. Everything went together fine and it looks fairly nice.I am using this in a spare bedroom for guests, so it is next to the closet where people can change and hang up their clothes without having to drape things everywhere. I opted for this instead of a coat rack, since this would be more useful.I think it's going to work fine in this situation. But I would be cautious to use this for daily use just because it is going to get worn and scuffed up with continual use and I will have to maintain it more often.

Everything was terrific on this clothes stand but the numbered stickers were difficult to remove and left a sticky film. I used Goop Off to remove the residue and then had to wash with soapy water to remove the Goop Off. I'm pretty sure they make stickers that require this much work. Otherwise, great valet stand.

This is made of some white sheetrock-type material and it has a cigarette paper thin layer of black paint on it. If you scratch it just a little bit, and it's easy to scratch, you will have a bright whit scratch mark. Mine came with no instructions on how to put it together and the screws were of two different colors and sizes (they should all be the same size and black). The pieces did not fit together as they are shown on the pictures. The holes are not drilled at the right places for that. Since the material is kind of soft, you have to be careful not to over-tighten because it's easy to strip the holes. If you decide to return it, the return postage is your responsibility.
