Heats water, doesn't temp the water, and shocks people
It heats water. It follows such a simple program though that it is not intelligent enough to do what I need.If I heat up clothes in the bathtub to deep clean them, it works fine. It even stirs the water. But the temperature varies considerably between 120 and 170 deg F. In a smaller container, such as a large bucket, this thing boils water. It does not auto-cutoff based on the temperature, but rather based on a set amount of time spent heating the water. The cable is super short, which sucks, so I have to use an extension cable just to plug it in to the electrical socket near my sink. All in all, this product lacks every useful feature, and is dangerous to boot. It will shock you, if you put your hand in the water. They have a warning label on the product to indicate this, but the label just saysit's "dangerous" and doesn't specify whether the danger is in getting shocked or how hot the water is. When the water is fully heated, it is very hot, so don't touch it, for that reason as well.- Cutoff should be based on temperature. Temperature should be specifiable. They include a 3rd party thermometer, so why couldn't they just build that into the product itself and make it automated? I don't want to babysit this thing while I'm using it. This tool ends up becoming a time-waster.- Product should be designed in a way that does not shock the user. This is a huge child safety issue. Hey, it's a huge adult safety issue too.- It should have a longer cable or come with a 6 foot extension cable with a single socket. No excuse.

It worked on our large kiddie pool until we melted it.
It actually did raise the temp in our 3 foot kiddie pool. However, I suggest you read the directions and heed to the hint of only running it 2 hours at a time and letting it cool down. We completely melted it causing it to meld into the extension cord. Tools were necessary to separate the two. Also we were terrified of being electrocuted and nervously hurled it in from a distance. As one does, I got a little too comfortable and got out the strainer to get a few leaves. Though there was no shock, there was screaming and flailing when I accidentally dipped a finger in the water. I wouldn’t suggest cannon balling in but it seemed safe enough to be around. I would suppose if it were that easy to be killed by it, a legal team would be included with purchase.

Warmed 230 gallons of water 19° in 2-1/2 hours
We have about 230 gallons of water in our kiddie pool. The water warmed from 70° to 89° in about 2-1/2 hours. I don’t know if that’s good for this product, but it definitely did the job. It did not damage the plastic lining if the pool. The only thing I didn’t like is the thermometer—I couldn’t figure out how to turn it on and there were no directions. There is nothing obvious on the unit, but maybe the batteries that came with it are dead? I don’t have those batteries so I didn’t try new ones, but even if new ones would turn it on, how do you turn it off? I used a regular cooking thermometer which did the job.

Great product
When you fill a spa, it takes forever (it seems) for it to get hot the first time. This cuts the time in perhaps half. Just be sure to run an extension cord to another circuit in your house, or you might pop a breaker. Has held up well, so far. Also, don't run it in an empty spa. It needs to be in water when on, or probably will blow the heating element.

Caution caught on fire
the heater caught on fire a few minute after connect.UPDATEThe seller contacted me and helped me with the problem. The heater must be completely submerged in the water so that this does not happen. Thanks.

Gets hot but not enough
I wanted see how much (if any) this would effect the temp of my above ground 6k gal pool. I left it on for about 30 hours and unfortunately I couldn’t see any change in water temp. I think it would work well for heating up 5 gal buckets.

This takes hours to heat a bath
Slow to heat any significant volume of water.
