yes. it has an adjustable height so at the taller settings the footprint is smaller and would tip easier, plan on using it at it's lowest. Overall though I would say get a real speaker stand and look more professional.

Can you buy a scrim to fit this?

If they had one they would probably list it. I would get one that is close then have a seamstress fit it or just take your seamstress some material. Since the stand has quite a bit of range on height which is accomplished by making the leg wider/closer then the skrim would be baggy at one setting or really stretched at the other.

do they sell the table top in wider sizes?

I'm not sure if they do,this is the size i have encountered with dj settings on this platform.
