Wonderful!
I am so tickled with this one that I need to review it immediately. I had purchased 3 other brands on previous summers that worked, but shot the water beyond the rim of the bath, therefore it was empty in no time. I had spent hours trying to tame the spray to no avail. I just landed up using the bubbler for lack of anything better. This is perfect. We have been having it near 100 for a while and I placed the bath underneath the bird feeder and the birds have been drinking from it constantly. This is not overshooting the bath. It's perfect. I am waiting to see the bird's reactions. I have another more shallow bath that birds bathe in, in another area. This bath here is a tad deep, so best for drinking mainly. I am going to purchase another one to create a hummingbird bath as I also have several of them. The long wire to the solar panel is also a big plus. It's too hot out there to get a better picture...lol...I'd like to add that it runs even when cloudy and when it gets shady where I have the solar panel. Very satisfied indeed.

Powerful suction but…
It has powerful suction but the one I received has no way to adjust it. There is no dial, no lever, no button, etc. And, it does not have the same brand name as the one indicated in the listing Consequently, the bird bath i wanted to use it in has to be refilled multiple times a day because the water sprays everywhere. Also, it does NOT have a water sensor or the sensor it has does not work because it continues to run even when the bird bath is empty. I guess if you buy this be sure to look it over as soon as possible after receiving otherwise you too may fall prey to the old “Bait and Switch” and end up with a useless item like I did. I plan to buy another one but will avoid any that indicate “made in China” like the Plague.

Its perfect
The media could not be loaded. The pump that originally came with our fountain was electric and LOUD. So loud I couldn’t hear our radio over it. It limited where I could put my fountain in the yard due to lack of electrical access. I bought this pump and solar set to replace the electrical pump. It took less than two minutes to set up. The pump itself is silent but effective. The solar panels cable is long enough to hide the unsightly panel in the alley behind my gate. Even on cloudy days and into the evening hours with very little light this thing works amazing. The birds aren’t frightened by it. I’ve had it for about three weeks now and will update my review if anything changes. But very pleased with the result!!!!

Fine for a floating aerator or low-height fountain
UPDATE Aug 2023: pump died 4 months after purchase. Disappointing, but replacement pumps are super cheap so I'll try again using same solar panel.(Since sometimes vendors will switch out products without resetting reviews, I am referring to "NFESOLAR Solar Water Fountain Pump, 5.5W Solar Power Bird Bath Fountains with 1500mAh Battery Backup, 3.9ft Tubing 16.4ft Cable, 132 GPH Solar Pond Pump for Garden Pool Water Feature Yard Fish Tank"). UPDATE: the pump works surprisingly well in low light. Last night with the sun well behind my house (like 7PM) and the panel in the shade, the pump was still working at low flow rate. I figured it was still on the battery, but when I held my hand over half the panel, the pump stopped. Remove my hand, the pump started. And today it's overcast, but the pump is working pretty well, maybe 3/4 normal power. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this pump for a DIY fountain/birdbath project. The pump is submerged about 12" in a ceramic pot and I adapted the hose (see below) to mount a modified spray nozzle (see below) on the rim of the pot, spraying gently back into the pot. Although I had some concerns when I first got the pump, the project actually turned out well. The system DOES HAVE A RECHARGEABLE BATTERY built into the back-side of the solar panel. It is sealed up in a plastic case so no idea if it's really 1500mAh, but I did verify that the pump will continue to run after the sun sets (at least 3 hours in my case). The system DOES NOT NEED/HAVE an AA battery. No idea why the description says that. There is no switch/disconnect between the solar panel and the pump (though it would be trivial to add one), so if the pump is in water and the battery has juice, it will start pumping. The little water sensor prong seems to work well - the pump stops almost immediately when removed from water. The listed max head height of 180cm/70" is a joke. I measured the max head at 46" and that was for an ever-so-slight burble of water out of the end of the hose. If you're setting up a fountain, don't plan on more than 18-24" for a very modest flow. It works great in its "floating" mode using the included foam float pad. The listed 39" spray height is stretching things a bit, but 30-36" is within reason depending on the spray head you use. The spray heads are designed to fit directly onto the pump, or onto a short riser piece which then fits onto the pump. They do NOT fit the hose, but if you want to do what I did and submerge the pump while using a spray head, you can gently heat the hose and widen the opening using needle-nose pliers. After a few heat-stretch-heat-stretch cycles I was able to fit the hose over one end of the little riser piece and put a nozzle on the riser. So the sequence is pump-> hose-> riser-> spray head. I also modified the pump inlet and one of the spray heads to drastically reduce the spray distance. My first test of the setup had the sprayer launching water over the edge of the 14" diameter pot, basically pumping it dry in about an hour. The pump's "min/max" flow lever is kind of a joke so I removed it and cut a piece of thin plastic (from a water bottle) the same size as the filter sponge. I drilled a 1/8" hole in the plastic to match the pump opening and then installed it with the filter sponge holding it in place. This reduced the flow a good bit, but still it was spraying a little too far. So I took one of the multi-hole spray heads and drilled a couple of the holes out to 7/32" to reduce the pressure & spray distance. Worked perfectly and now it gently sprays about 6" back into the pot. You could also just leave the spray head off and it will pour out just an inch or two.

Does the job.
The media could not be loaded. Ok for being very small this gets the job done. And the battery will last for a while after sun goes down. Wish it was a little stronger but for the price and size it gets the job done. I haven't tried the fountains that came with it, but it works for the purpose I bought it for.

Way better than the floater
The media could not be loaded. Update: I think this pump is so good, I purchased a 2nd one. I have a large frog bird bath that was in the corner of my yard with no outlet nearby, so I put flowers in it. While enjoying my dolphin,I thought, why not revive the frogs. Hence the 2nd purchase. I wish I could add a photo, but it says only one photo per review!? Odd. Anyway, I'm happy.1st review: First solar fountain was the disk, with 4 straws, no separate panel. I suppose it was OK but very weak and did not work well in the location I picked (spit on and off). This one is amazing, very strong output but more importantly, it has a solar panel with an extremely long cord allowing one to place wherever there is sun. It also runs continuously, even with shade. There is a high/low switch, but I didn't notice much difference. Bottom line, so far worth every penny. If it fails before the warranty, I will be sure to amend this post.

Great little pumps and super solar panels
This is my second set, I like the first one so much I ordered another. I was a little skeptical before the first one about how powerful the solar panel would be, but it works great and boosts the fountain spray over a foot high when fully charged. The pump is fine as long as the water is clear, or you remember to clean it every day or two, which is not difficult. A great value for not a lot of money.
