Great looking and works beautifully.
Bought this as a present for my daughter to light a wall hanging. Both she and I think it is very nice looking and it works well. The wiring options are a nice addition and I choose to use the cord with plug. Highly recommend to others.

Keeps great from getting in the way of good
Museum quality lamps are as much as $300, a figure I spent on my electronics bench lamp with it's glass optics and bedrock base from Germany, but inappropriate for illuminating a 12 Buck Ebay (even though I spent a day making the frame) map of Middle Earth.Like others, I wish the screw holding the lamp swivel wasn't stripped and the cord white. Otherwise, the mounting was straightforward, even with the very marginal but adequate plastic mollies. 12 inches of wire mold took care of the cord color and the lamp swivel was juuust tight enough to hold it where desired.I like the styling and color and the way it illuminates the map. As a bonus it casts light just right on the turntable, brightening an otherwise dark corner. Anyone know how to photograph a lamp with a Canon A630 without getting a solar flare? ;-}

going to buy more !!!!!
We have finally found picture lights that are quality !! Duped by several previous purchases here that would not stay adjusted, batteries that would not charge or very short usage time, and overall wastes of money.These lights are very nicely finished, smooth barrels, they plug in for reliable use, choice of light temperature and dimming, mounting is a breeze, instructions clear, great value, extra fasteners, and safe easy to unbox packaging. Our choice for photo illumination.

Beautiful Light
Very good quality light, similar to a commercial fixture. I ordered more.

OK.
OK overall. The light is pretty bright and cannot be dimmed. Unfortunately it does not have an adjustable shade, which would be a useful feature. The wall plug is low profile with an in-line on/off switch. The mounting system could be better, but it is adequate. You'll need a drill, screwdriver, pencil, level, measuring tape, and maybe a lightweight hammer. The wall anchors are of an older, less reliable design, so you may want to upgrade them. The screws are 1 inch long, which might not be long enough to secure the bracket adequately to a stud, should you hit one. Lining up the small machine screws that hold the base onto the mounting bracket can be slightly tricky. It does come with some extra screws.

Sleek design, bright light
This picture light was just what I was seeking. It is reasonable priced, and has a sleek design that doesn’t interfere with the frame. The light is clean and bright which is important to me to illuminate my paintings, even though it is a warm white shade it doesn’t distort the colors of the paintings. The bulb is not replaceable so when it goes you’ll have to buy a whole new unit. But it’s an LED lamp so that should be in a dozen years or so. The cord is long too. That’s important of course if you have large paintings. Easy to install. My order came quickly. I will be purchasing more of these.

great for quality portraits and paintings
have a Thomas Kincaid 40"x50" painting. He is noted as the painter of light. With natural lighting or room lighting, the painting was 'a painting'. When I installed 2 of these lights,side by side, the Painting CAME ALIVE with colors. They enhanced all the colors. I bought 2 because the painting was so wide. The painting is above a fireplace and I installed both lights on the fireplace mantle, Faceing up. If I get another painting, these lights will be ordered instantly for that painting.I think if you have a picture or painting covered with glass, there might be a glair problem, but not sure.i Noticed most if the pictirs lighting fixtures have a Kelvin rating of K3000. this has a warm hue to it which sets off the colors.Now for Lumens verses watts. Was going to order a set of lights with about 4 watts (LED). they put out about 270 lumens (sort of DIM). these lights are 8 watts (LED) which gives you about 600 lumens.I'm not recommending one over the other. Just trying to help you choose correctly.
